We Are All Ehrlich Now

The IPCC  is recycling Ehrlich’s BS from the 1970’s

Food supplies have been steadily increasing. These people are being paid to spread bullshit, and it stinks.

  1. omanuel says:

Thanks, Steven, for speaking bluntly in describing pseudo-science.

  2. Teddi says:

What’s affecting the food supply is the cold weather !

These alarmist idiots are such serial liars.

  3. Stefan v says:

Funny, “Ehrlich” is the German word for (wait for it….)…………….HONEST. How surreal.

  4. stewart pid says:

I reposted this graph over at Doomberg / Bloomberg where the alarmist nonsense is always front and centre with endless scary stories, scarier than the last scary stories.

  5. Streetcred says:

If those food supplies that have been redirected to ‘etho-fuel’ were to returned to the food industry then food prices will reduce and fewer people will be starving. I don’t know how these warmista fascists can live with the knowledge that they are 100% responsible.

    • Justa Joe says:

The warmists want more starvation. For the warmists it’s a win win situation. A principle aspect of warmism is Ehrlich’s crap redux.

It never fails. If you keep a warmist talking long enough the population reduction crap will inevitably come out especially a UK/Euro warmist.

  6. Psalmon says:

Corn yields are 8x what they were in the 1970s. Warmists hate technology because it keeps people alive.

  7. QV says:

This is just one lie amongst many.

A massive exercise in confirmation bias which has convinced everyone that “climate change” is happening, when it isn’t.

All weather is now redefined as “climate change”.

    1. Rising power bills from using your airconditioner: With temperatures set to rise between 0.6 and 1.5 degrees by 2030, your airconditioner use will become a significant expense.
Bull crap – Everything to do with carbon taxes and getting rid of cheap fossil fuel power generation.

    2. Warmer temperatures overnight: Pack away your doona as evening temperatures are also predicted to increase in the future. Since 2001, extreme heat records at night have outnumbered extreme cold records by 5 to 1, which may make sleeping more difficult for some.
Bullcrap – UHI is the reason for warmer nights in towns and cities. Try not using a doona in the country.

    3. Crowded beaches: Rising sea levels will put extra pressure on our beaches. Storm surges will continue to cause erosion, adding to the reduced shoreline from higher sea levels.
Bullcrap – Population growth of 400,000 per annum in Australia with 90%+ on the coast is the reason for crowded beaches. CO2 has nothing to do with it.

    4. High-speed windscreen wipers: Rainfalls are likely to increase in intensity. This will mean more flash flooding and need for the high-speed setting on your windscreen wipers as short, sharp downpours become part of life.
Bullcrap – Author is on crack.

    5. Infrastructure chaos: City infrastructure struggles at the best of times but you can expect more rail outages due to extreme heat, water shortages due to failures in treatment plants from bushfires or floods and airport delays due to storms.
Bullcrap – Infrastructure spending has lagged population growth for over two decades. EG. Sydney second airport has been promiosed since the 1970’s.

    6. Going on a holiday? You better visit some of your favourite local attractions soon because many won’t stay the same for long. Ocean acidification and rising temperatures are expected to have a significant effect on the Great Barrier Reef. The Gold Coast has been identified as a hotspot of vulnerability due to the concentration of coastal development. The Kakadu wetlands may be subject to increased saltwater intrusion from higher sea levels, affecting the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
Bullcrap – There is no ocean acidification – pH is 8.1-8.3 ie Alkaline. Higher sea levels is a myth.
Kakadu wetlands are submerged under fresh water every wet season because of a few metres of rainfall.

    7. Increases in food prices: If the driest future scenarios eventuate, there will be increased pressure on the Murray Darling Basin – where one-third of our food supply is produced.
Bullcrap – Price increase all to do with increased money supply. Aussie food production is up 200% since 1970.

    8. How does your garden grow? If you’re a green thumb, you’ve probably noticed changes to the flowering time of some plants. Warmer temperatures mean some species will bloom earlier and for longer, while other plants will wither and die in the heat. Last year in Sydney, the magnolias came into bloom about four weeks earlier than usual due to the mild weather.
Bullcrap – UHI and who cares when flowers bloom.

    9. High fire danger: The number of days with very high and extreme fire weather is expected to increase. In Sydney the extreme values of the fire danger index have increased by about 2 per cent per decade over the past 30 years. Implications include increased building costs in bushfire risk zones and more pressure on already stretched firefighting services.
Bullcrap – 50% of fires deliberately lit and another 40% due to power line sparks and accidental ignition (cigerette butts)

    10. Staying out of the heat: An increase in heatwaves will most likely result in more admission to hospital and deaths from heat-related illnesses.
Bullcrap – only when power bills get so high and old people can’t afford their air con!!!

    • Streetcred says:

Hey Andy … I’m in Brisbane … my wife has kept the doona on the bed for the entire summer. Our AC has only been run at night for a few very humid days. My electricity bill has risen 20% and my usage has dropped 5% … that rise in charges is entirely the cause of the warmista fascists.

  10. Imminent catastrophic famine has been predicted repeatedly since I was a boy. I am 56 years old.

    • kompani101 says:

We have used the technology of intensive farming, mainly rice, maze and wheat to keep ahead of the food supply/population curve. However, what has been found is that intensive farming is very detrimental to the soil, despite the use of energy intensive fertilizers which have problems with run off, damaging water supplies. Intensive crops are also very prone to rapid infestation by disease despite using large quantities of sprays, damaging local water supplies and the soil over long periods of time. Intensive farming has very nearly hit its limit between its advantages and disadvantages despite further R&D investment.
Changes in climate will intensify the problems as plants are very sensitive to average temperature change of only tenths of a degree.
So far these problems have been very slow to develop. The big problem is that they are speeding up exponentially, faster than we can do anything about, because of our ever increasing production of CO2 and other industrial outputs, mainly caused by our ever increasing need for electrical energy generation.
Countries such as India, China, Brazil, Malaysia etc., are becoming wealthy and all want air conditioning, cars, electric lights etc. like Americans! The problem is that it causes global warming which makes the food growing situation worse.
I’m 57, studied this stuff at University, visited/worked in 26 countries including USA and am an Engineer not a tree hugger.

  11. tom0mason says:

Yes we need to get rid of 90% of the population to restore the ‘balance’.
And the easiest way would to be restrict fossil fuels that are required to maintain humankind’s healthy, diverse, and expanding population.

  13. Brian Hall says:

The more CO2 we contribute to the atmosphere, the better. Pour on the coal, China (and Germany)!
