Yuk Yuk Yuk – From The Usual Morons

Our progressive friends and the LSM thought it was hilarious in 2008, when Sarah Palin predicted a Russian invasion of the Ukraine if Obama was elected.

President Obama said yesterday, “there will be costs for any military intervention in Ukraine.” He said this AFTER Russian troops had invaded the Crimean Peninsula and taken over a civilian airport and other facilities.

What “costs” were Obama blustering about? Maybe Obama was saying military intervention will cost Putin some taxpayer money, or something. I’m sure Putin is quaking in his boots at what action the international community might take. Let me help Obama – renege on the New START treaty and revoke Russia’s Permanent Normal Trade Relations (PNTR) status. Submit a revised military budget which restores funding for the Navy and Air Force, and reinstate plans for anti-ballistic (ABM) systems in Eastern Europe (which Obama gave up a few years ago for nothing in return). Announce that the Keystone XL pipeline will procede, along with encouraging export of natural gas and refined oil products to Europe (to break the Russian stranglehold on Europe). Other potential responses would be boycotting the June G8 Summit in Sochi (Putin quaking in his boots again) or the international community freezing Russian monetary assets. A better economic strategy (which should have started years ago) would have been pursuing a strong energy policy involving exploiting oil and gas resources in the U.S., Europe, and the Arctic, in order to weaken Russia’s economic influence (no one buys Russian autos, commercial jets, computers and electronics, or consumer goods). And we can even spend some govt funding for green energy R&D – it is in our national security interest irrespective of “global warming / climate change.”

Putin never “blinked” over the Syrian chemical weapons issue. The American public and the Congress was firmly against enforcing the red line Obama set but let Assad cross without consequences. No one on this planet actually thought Obama would take military action. The result? Putin was all too happy to assert more influence in the Middle East and keep their military base on the Mediterranean. Syria has missed deadlines to turn over their chemical weapons (only 11% exported for destruction as of 2-22-14 http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/22/world/middleeast/syrians-seek-a-new-delay-in-disposal-of-chemical-weapons.html?_r=0), and Assad has continued his slaughter of civilians using conventional weapons.

After Obama’s “strongly worded” statement at the White House yesterday, what did he do? He went to the DNC to party: “Well, it’s Friday. It’s after 5:00. So this is now officially happy hour with the Democratic Party.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2014/02/28/obama-holds-happy-hour-with-the-democratic-party/. Remember he flew off to a fundraiser in Las Vegas after the Benghazi terrorist attack? Remember he played golf after his big speech on Syria? http://www.mediaite.com/online/obama-finished-syria-speech-and-played-golf/

Even novice Sarah Palin (and her flat learning curve) back in 2008 had more insight on foreign policy than Obama: “After the Russian Army invaded the nation of Georgia, Senator Obama’s reaction was one of indecision and moral equivalence, the kind of response that would only encourage Russia’s Putin to invade Ukraine next.” http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2008/10/22/russia_might_invade_ukraine_if_obama_wins_palin_warns and http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2014/02/28/palin-on-ukraine-i-told-you-so/. Palin was ridiculed by the mainstream media for that comment. A strawman argument was made that the right advocated violence or military action to contain Putin. No, actually we favor “peace through strength” espoused by JFK and later Reagan. Will the mainstream media similarly mock Obama?

Anyone recall most of the media taking Obama’s side after Romney called Russia the U.S.’s top “geopolitical threat” before the 2012 elections? http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2012/oct/22/barack-obama/obama-romney-called-russia-our-top-geopolitical-fo/

Russia has opposed U.S. interests on every major international issue in recent years. Russia plans to expand it’s military reach, including bases in “Vietnam, Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, the Seychelles, Singapore and several other countries.” http://en.ria.ru/military_news/20140226/187917901/Russia-Seeks-Several-Military-Bases-Abroad–Defense-Minister.html. Russia has also engaged in an effort to strengthen their military infrastructure at home. http://en.ria.ru/military_news/20130627/181914590/Russia-to-Build-100-New-Military-Bases-and-Airfields.html

I’m still wondering what Obama thought the U.S. national security interest was in Libya / Benghazi. Maybe Obama should keep his promise and pivot to Asia, and not unsettle our Pacific Rim allies by drastically cutting our Navy.

Funny, after writing the above, I read this: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2014/02/28/ukraine-syria-iran-america-isnt-leading-from-behind-it-being-left-behind/?intcmp=HPBucket.

No U.S. troops or war needed. Reagan won the Cold War without firing a shot. Let’s see if Obama knows anything about history.

“Let’s see if Obama knows anything about history.”

Given that the silly little man doesn’t know how many states there are in the Union, or what date it is, I seriously doubt it.

The media is so far up Hillary and Pelosi’s ass, they don’t know what a critical thinking, independent woman is all about any longer. God, it is so sad for our country’s future….

I guess that Obama was sending a message to Putin about Ukraine?

Why doesn’t someone Photoshop the head of the Traitor in Chief on Nettle Chamberlin’s body and have him waving what Herr Hitler referred to in private as that ridiculous little piece (Not peace) of paper?

  8. Andy DC says:

You woud think we woud want energy independence QUICKLY with all the instablity in the world. But Obama would rather forego that and instead dramatically increase energy prices, to prevent a half degree of warming.

  9. Brian H says:

Obamannouncements are a good reverse guideline.
