February 2 is forecast to be -6 F in Punxsutawney, and the last thing we want is for Phil to get frostbite.
Precautionary principle says to cancel groundhog day until the end of the next ice age.

I concur. It seems frivolous anyhow. Burrrrr !

Hey that rodent has a better record at predicting winter than NOAA has in forecasting the number and severity of hurricanes during the season.
Our pal Joe Bastardi has news for the early Spring lovers and it isn’t good…
If we have to go out into it, so does he. Suck it up Phil!
This print resolution image shows one cross-section of the age of the Greenland Ice Sheet as determined by MacGregor et al. (See citation under the “More Details…” button below) Layers determined to be from the Holocene period, formed during the past 11.7 thousand years, are shown in Green. Age layers accumulated during the last ice age, from 11.7 to 115 thousand years ago are shown in blue. Age layers from the Eemian period, more than 115 thousand years old are shown in red. Regions of unknown age are filled with a flat gray colour.

After all the core drilling and analysis they’ve done, why would there be any layer they can’t attribute a period to?
Because they are liquid?

So Greenland was ice free during the warmest peak of the Eemian around 125,000 years ago at least at the end of summer.
Maybe Tiger day ?

We shouldn’t change ground hog day – it is too much fun, and could be made more accurate by having two official ground hogs. I recommend one in NY, named Gavin, and one in Colorado, named Kevin. Together, they could greatly improve spring forecasts!
Speaking if Gavin, have you seen this factual rebuttal to a swarm of unfactual criticisms by alleged scientists (including Gavin) of a peer reviewed paper refuting predictions by current climate models?

They should know better than to tangle with lord Monckton. He does such a nice job of handing them their A$$.
Oh for a government that is not corrupt!
