Hiding The Decline At Canberra

Satellites show that temperatures at Canberra have been declining at 2.2C/century since 1997.

But surface temperatures have been rising at 7.1C/century

This probably has something to do with the fact that BOM placed their thermometer right next to a huge parking lot.

GISS claims that they adjust for UHI, but in fact they do almost nothing to correct the problem. They shift all post-1940 temperatures down by about an equal amount, and leave behind the completely fake sharp warming trend at Canberra.

One more indication that the surface temperature record from GISS and BOM is a farce.

I am convinced Joseph Stalin himself played a key role in designing “The Great Social Experiment of 1945-2015?

Who else would use the entire human population in such a worldwide social experiment, without consent?

    • omanuel says:

After consolidating power (actually a false illusion of power) for almost seventy years (1945-2015), the most simple and perhaps only solution for society today may be for each person to return their allegiance to the God of their own understanding – their concept of a Higher Power that rules the universe.

    • Sounds like this needs to go to Court..!!

Jackass Politicians are making Policy based on these lies, the FRAUD… they want Tax Money and more Control over power… every aspect of our lives due to .0004 mole CO2.. we are ALL Plaintiff’s in this Case..

well Canberra IS the home of our best bullshitters so BoM there is in good company.
and omanuel above…err Bernays also comes to mind re globally used pop manipulation by media..murrika media loves his work and uses it daily I gather.

The engineer in me thinks that it should be simple enough to add thermal mass around new thermometers to get them to respond in a manner equivalent to old mercury ones. Pity that this is not done or even considered.

      • Jason Calley says:

Hey Neal! I think the idea of added thermal mass (to make response like that of previous thermometers) is a good one. I would even go a bit farther.

We talk about a location’s “average temperature” as if the simple average of high daily temperature and low daily temperature means much. Obviously a location that has 23 hours at 10 degrees and 1hour at 20 degrees is not the same as a location that has 1 hour at 10 degrees and 23 hours at 20 degrees — but they are both treated as having the same average. Why not have a series of thermometers with enough thermal mass that the relative time periods of differing temperatures are smoothed out? How much mass? I don’t know, but it would not be too complicated to find an experimental answer that is close enough for government work. While far from a perfect solution, it makes a lot more sense than a simple arithmetic average of high and low readings.

Check out the site in Google Earth:

Pre-2002 the site is in a grassy area on the eastern edge of the rural airport; 2002 there is a new hangar and apron being finished just west of the thermometer; by 2005 there is construction going on to the east; 2006 the site is surrounded by construction; by 2008 the site is practically on the brand new parking lot.

Finally, in 2011 the site is gone. Any idea where it’s been moved to?

I’d say the data from 2000 or so, when the new hangars were thrown up, are pretty much garbage.

  4. emsnews says:

This has happened universally. Most thermometers were kept in urban hot zones and they decided to ignore the rural ones which is why over 40% of all thermometers now used for data are gone…almost all are rural.

In 1880 Australia had so many more trees then today, cut all these trees down everywhere and whats going to happen? Warming

Hi Steven, you have mistakenly switched “FINAL” with “RAW” on your gif. Or maybe I’m not seeing something…

  7. knido says:

Oh, never mind, you have done it correctly. I misunderstood what they did…

Is Queanbeyan Bowling Club still in the record ?

    • AndyG55 says:

iirc Queanbeyan Bowling Club should be reasonably stable (its a long time since I was in Queanbeyan, though).

I suspect that if it is still there, it will have been “homogenised” to match Canberra airport.
