The official Obama propaganda outlets use imagery like this to describe the “record heat” of 2014
Satellites show that last year wasn’t anywhere near a record year globally, but one country which did record its warmest average temperature was France.
However, it wasn’t hot in France last year. Summer maximum temperatures were just about average. The “heat” was actually mild temperatures in other seasons.
France had very few hot days last year.
Record daily temperatures in France peaked in the 1950’s, and there have been very few since the 2003 heatwave.
During the heatwave of 1947, Paris set its all-time record of 104.7 degrees. (Wikipedia incorrectly lists this as being 1948)
And Paris also reached 104 degrees in 1765.

The weather in France is getting milder, not hotter. If global warming is affecting them, it is making their climate better.
“French wine growers – and its connoisseurs – can raise a glass for the 2014 harvest. After two disappointing years, France’s public agricultural authority said on Friday that this year’s harvest is expected to produce six billion bottles of wine, bringing production levels back up to the norm.”

Sacre bleu!
France is the world. The US is not. Any idiot can see that!
It is to the pig Kerry who cannot pronounce the language he purports to be fluent in.
“Senator John Kerry, the presumed Democratic presidential candidate who is trading on his Vietnam war record to campaign against President George W Bush, tried to defer his military service for a year, according to a newly rediscovered article in a Harvard University newspaper.
He wrote to his local recruitment board seeking permission to spend a further 12 months studying in Paris, after completing his degree course at Yale University in the mid-1960s.”

His backup plan was unconditional surrender.
I live in France. Last year there was an unusually mild winter, and the summer was only lukewarm. This winter, however, I would describe as more “normal” – it is cold, and has been on and off for some weeks. We are about to experience the year’s first snowfall in central areas.
France is a very big country. 2.5 times the size of the UK. Having said that, France had a year of generally “normal weather”. Sw France was average for rainfall, a little above for temp and wind. http://www.meteofrance.com/climat/france/releves
Summer was slightly below normal in the SW slightly above in the east.
Correction, France is about the size of Texas, one of fifty states that make up a big country. 😉
It was a similar story in the UK. We had some kind of statistical anomaly temperature for the year.
A very mild start followed by month after month of just nice weather. Never hot, just 25-30C for weeks on end. Despite the UK’s reputation for terrible weather, most summers will have a few days where the temperature gets in the 30-35 range, which can be unpleasant given our lack of household air conditioning.
It has been presented as some kind of indicator of catastrophe by the met office, but you literally could not wish for better weather. Not even any water shortages, just weather from paradise.
Phil Plait used to use a shot of the Earth from space with flames overlaid. Even some of the AGW folks there took him to task for it being nonconstructive.
