In 1977, the US had a spectacularly incompetent left wing president. It was cold and snowy in New York.
Jerry Brown was governor of California, and they were facing a drought disaster
The jet stream made Alaska warm, California dry and brought snow to Florida,.
Everything was identical to the present, except for one thing. In 1977, experts blamed it on global cooling, instead of the current global warming wankers.
You forgot the pervasive presence of the Internet in the 21st Century. That’s a big change.
No wonder “Internet Neutrality” is still being pushed–to end Global Warming!
That’s a pertinent point: I’ll bet there would have been many more on the “bandwagon” had the internet been so prevalent in the mid-late 70’s, and their mindless drivel would be being repeated to haunt them, like it will be in a few years.
Since 1977 Earth has become a very small place.

I could, possibly, maybe, sort of, be possible to map the Jet Stream in the middle 1940s by mapping out where Japan’s balloon bombs landed, or were intercepted. It’s just an idea but its the only idea I have just now.
That is an interesting idea.
Mark my words, the time of comeuppance and retribution will come for the pitiful scare mongering Chicken Littles, that target children with there baseless and despicable messages of fear. They will get it good, for their fraudulence and deceptions in pursuit of their elitist political goals that will have devastating economic impacts on billions, leading directly to the death of millions. With economies battered and dreams of a better world.. in tatters because of the extreme political agenda of the Prophets of Doom, their time will come, and they, the left wing elitists and science charlatans will be backed against the wall by the full wrath of billions who have suffered from their greed and stupidity, and I’ll be first in line to put them there.
“pitiful scare mongering Chicken Littles, that target children with there baseless and despicable messages of fear. ”
That pretty well sums them up. Shame on them. These are the same people who want to raise a generation of children so weak that the kids can’t even play in the park without having an adult to supervise .
You’ll both get a kick out of Selwyn Duke’s American Thinker article from yesterday. A few quotes: “Everything is over-hyped today, from the weather to entertainment to sports to hopey-changey politicians . . . . conditioned as people are to be protected puppets of the state . . . . During my childhood in the early and mid’70s–you know, back when they warned us in elementary school of an impending ice age–we had impressive blizzards . . . . We have become a soft people . . . . Whatever the case, Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore.”

In addition, we find governors Chris Christie and Mario Cuomo imposing travel bans via executive fiat, including shutting down the subways for our “protection.”
The winning sentence from that article:
“… the new commandment, “Thou shalt ensconce thy progeny in bubble wrap.””
I rode a crazy thoroughbred without a helmet, a bike without a helmet, rock climbed without a helmet, back packed in the mountains alone, drove a carriage and pair without a helmet down trails I am not sure I could navigate on foot…..
Jonova discusses the increasing number of warmist fits of anger and violent threats made against skeptics: http://joannenova.com.au/2015/01/climate-grief-believers-mourning-its-denial-and-anger-but-it-sure-isnt-science/
One outburst from the cliimate loon Professor Corety Bradshaw:
Yeah right, he sees irrefutable evidence of doom every day. What a bunch of absolute baloney I say.
Anyway, at Jonova, Roy Hogue commented:
There has been other change…

Back in 1967 when I took the SAT, few took it. Only 30% of us went to university.
Now, nearly everyone takes it except for kids in prison, drop outs, etc.
The graph goes to show that most students shouldn’t be going to university, yet the US government pushes for everyone to go. When did being a blue collar worker become a bad thing? Those are the people that keep our country running, not the white collar elites sitting behind a desk.
My daughter’s friend was touring colleges and my daughter and I tagged along. This girl’s father told me his other daughter majored in pottery. Pottery? He complained that it wasn’t going to get her a job, yet he paid for her to go. Too many people, both the student and the parents, buy into the everyone needs to go to college meme.
We were buying a house from a CEO at Bloomingdale’s. He and his wife looked down their noses at us because hubby was a blue collar (multiple) laundromat owner. During a legal dispute over us needing more time because the buyer of our house got delayed in closing we had to submit W2 forms. Hubby made more money than the CEO. I wonder how that made him feel. Moral of the story, you don’t need a college education to make a good living, they just don’t want you to know that. Plus, you don’t start your adult life in debt up to your eyeballs.
A 2 year degree, and three years experience, can equal a 6 figure income.
PROFOUNDLY DISCONNECTED®?
* A trillion dollars in student loans.
* Record high unemployment.
* Three million good jobs that no one seems to want.
The goal of Profoundly Disconnected® is to challenge the absurd belief that a four-year degree is the only path to success. The Skills Gap is here, and if we don’t close it, it’ll swallow us all. Which is a long way of saying, we could use your help…

I interviewed a woman who earned her 4 year degree in African Dance, all paid for by us. She could not understand why she was unable to find work, and probably still lives off welfare.
Notice how that coincides with the upswing in teacher’s unions, liberal takeover of curricula and the start of the fed’s starting the Department of Education.
Thanks Jimmy!
I took the test in 1968. I did well but I can read and understand what I read to this day.
The excuses may be different, but the idiots in charge have not changed.
Dang u Tony … I had a 1973 VW Westphalia van like the one in the first photo behind the Hertz truck and had almost purged the memory of the POS from my hard drive and your post brought back all the bad memories!
The thing was entropy on wheels 🙁
I was in Park Slope in 1977. Lots and lots of blizzards back then. Endless snow shoveling. We lived near the Flatbush Ave subway entrance and had to shovel out the stairs there so we could commute to work. The city was struggling with bankruptcy so they barely plowed the streets to avoid overtime payments to workers.
Reblogged this on Climatism.
Carter was a dream compared to this guy.
Carter was not an active enemy of the USA.
