The Northwest Passage Cruise Disaster

Hundreds of people believed criminal government climate scientists who have been lying about Arctic conditions for years, and booked expensive Northwest Passage vacation cruises for this summer. But they have a big problem – there is ice right up to the Alaskan coast (shown in red) much of which is thick, multi-year ice.

And the prospects for that ice melting look bleak, as very cold air has settled in across the region.

10-Day Temperature Outlook

Six years ago, scientists announced the end of multi-year ice – due to greenhouse gas emissions.

These people have absolutely no clue what they are talking about, but are paid well to lie – so they continue to do so.

Thanks for the encouraging news that consensus climate “scientists” will get to meet reality!

  2. tomwys1 says:

They should learn from what happened to the poor Australians’ “Ship of Fools” when they tried an Antarctic foray!!!

  3. emsnews says:

They can reschedule the boat to go to Greenland…oops, also frozen. How about Hudson Bay to see and feed the polar bears? But alas, it too is still too frozen. How about parachute them all in and drop them next to the starving polar bears? Kill two birds with one polar bear.

Truism: “Fools & Their Money are Soon Parted.”
The sad thing is that most of those fools will probably have learned nothing from a very expensive lesson. Well maybe they will have learned something! I doubt that there will be too many that take the same gamble again unless they happen to light cigars with Ben Franklins.

  5. Marsh says:

This Global Warming Fraud has broader ramifications, due to the deliberate misinformation regarding overall volumes of Polar Ice . Complacency has set in as to the need for building more Icebreaker Ships… after all, the proponents of Global Warming predicted they won’t be needed.

The USA currently has just 1 ( Polar Star ) operational Icebreaker. Russia has 27 Ocean Going and some of them Nuclear Powered. For the size of GDP; USA has a minimal commitment.
The situation is a lost Priority due to the Global Warming fraudsters misinforming Congress.

This is more like “Fools without Ships” as there’s over a hundred Ocean going Icebreakers around the World and the USA has just one… largely as a consequence of GW fraud.

Might I suggest a cruise on water that is always ice free, and never floods or dries up?

I spent decades and over a thousand miles here without a single cancelation. No legionnaires disease, no terrorists, no hurricanes, no impassible ice, no lounge acts, no sharks, no unexpected port fees, no drunken captains (with the possible exception of yours truly), and no regrets.

Uh, gator… Looks like a nice place. Where is it?

      • gator69 says:

It is the Current River in Missouri. I have been a canoeing enthusiast since I was a boy, and this is my favorite river for a number of reasons. It is nearly entirely spring fed above the Jack’s Fork, and is an entrenched meandering stream that cuts through uplifted limestone, so lots of bluffs and caves.

        http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/national_parks/ozark_park99.pdf

The best section is Baptist Camp to Two Rivers, where the Jack’s Fork joins it. That is a 58 mile float that can easily be done in three days. Best campground is at Pulltite Spring, next best is at Round Spring, stay clear of the commercial campgrounds and do not go in the Summer. Best times to plan a trip are late April through late May, and in October. I used to go twice a year to see the redbuds and dogwoods in bloom, and the last weekend of October to see the fall colors. If you go on a weekend during summer it is wall to wall canoes.

The Jack’s Fork is also nice, but it tends to flood in Spring because unlike the Current, it has a dendritic watershed that is susceptable to flash flooding. On one rainy trip down there the Jack’s Fork was 22 feet above normal, and the Current only went up 2 inches. Camping along the Current is safe, but the Jack’s Fork is not, unless you seek high ground.

Wait just a minute! The scenery looks an awful lot like North America! (I’m including Canada as a hedge.)

OT, but people HAVE to read this.

    http://wattsupwiththat.com/2015/07/23/yes-why-does-john-cook-of-skepticalscience-and-the-97-have-to-use-identity-theft-in-his-research/

    unbelievable !!

(or since its John Cook, probably quite believable.)

    • AndyG55 says:

one really telling quote from Cook…

“John Cook: Sorry about the Lubos thing. Was posting some Lubos comments for the UWA experiment and forgot to log back in as John Cook.”

The UWA experiment….. that would have to be something to do with Lewendowsky and his conspiracy theory junk papers.

    • AndyG55 says:

John Cook should immediately be sack from holding any academic position anywhere.

And if Lewendowsky knew about this, he also should be sacked immediately.

    • AndyG55 says:

And wasn’t Cook also doing a PhD in Psychology or something.

This should be immediately terminated and/or rescinded.

    • AndyG55 says:

      And remember….

this is a guy that Obama uses for information !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Chewer says:

The Canadian Coast Guard is not prepared to rescue a ship of 8 much less several hundred at a time. All cruise ship enterprises know that should disaster happen, they’ll all be shit out of luck and quite chilled!
I’m assuming all boarding need to sign a waiver that mentions the remote possibility of being stranded in a chilled region, or worse.

  9. omnologos says:

Hundreds of people? Is there a link?

  10. tomB says:

Headline in today’s Milwaukee journal sentinel: water levels rising in lake Michigan. Only 2 years ago the lake was doomed because of global warming. They say the reason for the water rise is due to the “extremely” cold winters of the last several years which of course we weren’t supposed to be having.

    • gator69 says:

Yes, but the “extremely” cold winters of the last several years were caused by global warming, of course.

      • Marsh says:

Yes gator, that’s the inverted nonsense we can expect from the warming mongers. What is ridiculous, is the masses of people believing the BS like it’s a blind faith!

        • gator69 says:

I was dealing with a zealot named Candi yesterday who did not bat an eye even after I showed her that the 97% consensus was contrived nonsense, that there is a Trillion Dollar Climate Change Industry, that the models are failed at the 95% confidence level by the alarmists’ own metrics, that the entire sham is based upon modles, and that they are allowing 7 million people to needlessly die each year.

After all “that”, she insulted me and wrote, “This is getting silly. Goodbye, and good luck with your belief system, you’ll need it.”

          Truly insane.

        • Stewart Pid says:

Gator … simply a case of their minds are made up and they don’t want to be confused by any facts. But good on you for trying to educate the twits …. you know they get it but choose to ignore it but how long can leftards continue such stupidity?

        • rah says:

It’s not about facts or truth. It’s all about political ideology with the more ignorant or lazy among us and that is why Gator or anyone else will get that kind of answer from them no matter how well stated and informed the argument presented is.

    • D.Self says:

Lake Erie is as high as I have seen in 30 years and NOAA has it at average level right now. They are cooking the water level books now.
