Both my Dad and my Uncle Bill went to the Naval Academy and like West Point, it’s free for everyone who get appointed and accepted and you get free food and boarding. You’re actually in the military. There are no scholarships per say. What a great story about one of our politicians.
Even the Academies call them “scholarships” in some promotional material. The liberals know no bounds for their attempted smears. Carson is coming out of this WAY ahead!
I’m
I think Ben Carson’s point was pretty clear. General Westmoreland made it clear he would get in, and it would be free.
* 0blamea has run the debt to TWENTY TRILLION dollars, aided and abetted by RINOS
* Iran is nuking up
* Russia is running roughshod in the east
* China is sabre rattling in the Pacific
* HALF the country receives government assistance
* NINETY million Americans don’t have jobs
* 0blameacare is a financial and social disaster with over THIRTY MILLION still uninsured
And the lamestream media spends their time in a headlong full frontal assault to destroy an accomplished black man who dared stray from the libscum plantation. If they had spent ONE TENTH the effort vetting a certain Marxist Chicago thug community organizer in 2007-08, we would have avoided the seven year 0blamea destruction derby.
GO, BEN, GO!!!
Took an accumulated debt of 10 Trillion and doubled it in two terms. Not even that evil Bush could do that much damage.
When the MSM Media runs Obama down until he explains why he stood in front of the World (United Nations) and blamed a terrorist attack on a video when its known that he knew his statement was a lie, or has Hillary explain why she lied to the families of the fallen to their face I will give them some credibility. Until then they are scum.
The Politico has since walked back their outrageous report. The CNN stuff is quite weak and falling apart as well. But the left-wing, liberal MSM strategy is clear – try to demonize the man in any way possible until lies become the truth. Unfortunately, this is an effective strategy with today’s low information voters…
You got it Frank K. All we have learned from this is who they FEAR. They always attack those they FEAR in a coordinated manner.

I see he clearly has that self-satisfied smirk so many progressives carry on their faces. He’s just another progressive media snake. It is obvious the left is scared to death of the good doctor. I mean, only in modern times would any media company say a candidate for president is not bad enough.
You gone ruined by evening meal!
Look at the level of ‘vetting’ the media is doing and nobody ever asked how did a poor, pot smoking kid get into Columbia (where 400 people in his class and multiple professors did not recall him) and then graduate with no honors and get accepted at Harvard law School?
Benghazi aside, where are they with HRC’s mishandling of highly classified information (ONE violation should have her indited) and her private charity that accepted millions from Swedish companies while she was Secretary of State and at the same time desiding who could do business with Iran (those companies could).
Just a bunch of Left wing nit picking by the NYT. Nothing new. Too bad they did not bother to investigate our current occupant of the WH as critically. That may come long after he has left the oval office and the damage to our country has been done.
Our response should be SO? and move on as Breitbart would have done.
This is, unfortunately, a losing case for Carson.
The Bernie Sanders’ commenter, “I wouldn’t see why it would be any different with an ROTC recruiter….”
If you don’t see the difference, it’s because you do not understand how appointments to military academies are made.
There is no “scholarship” waiting to be awarded.
Appointments are made by Congressional nomination. This is an exhaustive process, with multiple stages of intensive vetting. There is NO “recruiter” offering a scholarship.
Someone, noticing an apparently promising potential candidate, might suggest that a candidate consider beginning the process.
A naive and arrogant punk kid, receiving such a suggestion, might think that he was “offered a scholarship to West Point, and turned it down.”
But it takes a special kind of Munchausen-like personality to distort the truth, 30 years later, as an adult who knows better. That’s what Carson did here–and in numerous other fake stories about his life.
The comparisons of Carson with Obama are quite apt. After they were selected for their guilt-trip value by fund-raising handlers, they “wrote books” high-lighting their “inspiring life story.”
Both their books are full of fake, exaggerated, and otherwise manipulative stories. Just as with Obama, Carson’s handlers’ squeals of fake outrage are loud because the strikes are hitting the jugular.
Normal-Americans should vet our own candidates just as aggressively as we do our opponents’.
This is a huge problem.
http://intelctweekly.blogspot.com/2015/10/fake-conservative-fox-news-ct-expert.html
“Fake but accurate” cannot be the standard of our side.
If Westmoreland says you are in, you are in. Carson chose not to follow through. Best thing is, besides Carson coming out of it all golden, it pushed that Hillary off the front page.
Who vetted Obama AT ALL?
“Fake”?
Unfortunately, Virginia, no. A general has some pull, but there is no guaranteed admission on the word of any general. The general would become one of the candidate’s references. The process is designed to make it as fair as possible, but to afford references the potential to weigh in on a candidate.
Generals DO NOT make appointments to the academies.
Carson could have qualified for a special APPLICATION process, IF his Junior ROTC unit was an “Honor Unit.”
Even then, that is just a different route to APPLYING.
“Army Junior and Senior ROTC Programs and Honor ROTC Units of Other Services
Applicants currently enrolled in an Army Junior or Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program or an ROTC program from another branch of service that has been designated as an Honor Unit with Distinction are eligible for a nomination in this category. A request for a ROTC Nomination should be made through your Professor of Military Science or Senior Instructor who must fill out and submit a Request for ROTC Nomination (Form 5-497) to the Director of Admissions, U.S. Military Academy.”
Again, a green punk kid might have misunderstood. A grown man puffing up his inflated chest, writing a book to glorify his life must know better.
Carson’s obfuscations and exaggerations are exactly parallel to Obama’s.
Who vetted Obama? I did, for one. And I vet “conservative” candidates too. Just because they mouth “conservative” slogans does not make them so.
http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/KentClizbe-CIA-BarackObama-MiddleEast/2011/04/22/id/393823/
Read the story of the fraud posing as a “conservative commentator” for 13 years on Fox News (linked in my comment above). Fraud is fraud–even if it “sounds good.”
It is easy to imagine a conversation where Westmoreland promised the kid a slot. Perhaps Westmoreland was exaggerating. I don’t see any reason to disbelieve Carson’s story at this point.
Tony,
It’s not that Westmoreland was exaggerating…it’s CARSON, THE MAN doing so. He wrote the book 30 years later, as a grown man.
A punk kid might not understand the process. A grown man, writing his life-story about how humble he is, can NOT fake such a story.
This was CARSON’s story, NOT Westmoreland’s story.
Is the PC-Prog media grabbing this and running with it, they sure are. Of course they are. But Carson’s handlers’ squealing and deflecting is prototypical “make counter-accusations” used by guilty parties when accused.
The Carson phenomena is purely fund-raising on Normal-guilt:
His entire campaign is the invention of Beltway GOP Establishment insider fund-raisers:
“When Mr. Sousa [Carson’s fund-raiser/handler] was interviewed in December 2014 about the PAC, he seemed curiously lacking in passion for his candidate. He mentioned that he was very much taken with Dr. Carson’s speech at the Prayer Breakfast, and with his rags-to-riches tale, but also conceded, “Did we thoroughly vet the guy? No.” He claimed to be impressed with Dr. Carson’s Christian faith and conservative positions, but noted that “he doesn’t have all of his positions set yet.”
http://www.vdare.com/articles/the-ben-carson-money-machine
Carson was told to apply and he would be accepted by the most influential General of that time period.
Slam dunk, Carson was the top ROTC kid in Detroit.
My daughter had numerous verbal scholarship offers. She did not apply to most, but went to Oxford.
West Point, in their own literature calls it a scholarship.
David,
Sorry, it’s not a slam dunk. In the mind of an arrogant punk kid, maybe it sounded like it. A mature man, 30 years later, should know it was not.
The issue is NOT the terminology, “scholarship,” the issue is that he claimed that he was “offered a scholarship.”
Getting a position at West Point is NOT the same as being “offered a scholarship” at State U, or Harvard, or Oxford.
YOU MUST BE NOMINATED BY A CONGRESSMAN!
Even when you are nominated, and are “accepted,” you still are not guaranteed a slot.
You could only claim you were “offered a scholarship” once you’ve been through the whole process–nomination, interview, selection, offer.
Carson’s operation is a masterful manipulation of guilt. It’s the same operation that ran the Herman Cain campaign–that worked out well, didn’t it? Exact same template as Carson….guilt-appeal.
“Bruce Eberle, founder and president of Eberle Communications Group, brags about the money he raises. In the closing days of 2011, he wrote a revealingly titled article called The Amazing Herman Cain Money Machine, boasting about the inside role he and his associates played in the presidential campaign of the 2012 black Republican, Herman Cain. The campaign did raise a lot of money but Mr. Cain dropped out before the Iowa caucus after accusations of adultery and sexual harassment.”
And to top it off, Carson’s “communications director” is the disgraced former affirmative action commentator, Armstrong Williams–who was nailed for accepting money from the federal government for commenting favorably on the Dept of Education “No Child Left Behind” policies.
You’re being scammed.
West Point used the terminology of “full scholarship” in magazine ads.
“I don’t see any reason to disbelieve Carson’s story at this point”
There’s certainly plenty of other stuff from Carson that is beyond belief; this story is a side show.
You’re sounding kind of repetitive. Also some of your characterizations seem odd for a self proclaimed “conservative.”
“And to top it off, Carson’s “communications director” is the disgraced former affirmative action commentator, Armstrong Williams–who was nailed for accepting money from the federal government for commenting favorably on the Dept of Education “No Child Left Behind” policies. ”
Armstrong Williams is a long time conservative commentator who was nailed by the press for working with the Bush administration to promote their policies. Your buzz word laden description sounds a little odd.
Justa,
Unfortunately, the truth sometimes hurts. But it’s better to deal with it and move on than to pretend it’s not so, and blame others. Allowing scammers a free pass because you think they are on your side simply allows them to pop up with another scam later–viz Armstrong Williams.
Williams was exposed as a government shill. He was paid by the Dept of Education to surreptitiously introduce discussion topics on TV shows and his newspaper column in support of the federal No Child Left Behind policies.
It would be wrong for a PC-Progressive journalist to be paid secretly to advance federal policies–it’s even worse for a “conservative” to do so.
” The Education Department paid commentator Armstrong Williams $241,000 to help promote President Bush’s No Child Left Behind law on the air, an arrangement that Williams acknowledged yesterday involved “bad judgment” on his part.
“In taking the money, funneled through the Ketchum Inc. public relations firm, Williams produced and aired a commercial on his syndicated television and radio shows featuring Education Secretary Roderick R. Paige, touted Bush’s education policy, and urged other programs to interview Paige. He did not disclose the contract when talking about the law during cable television appearances or writing about it in his newspaper column. ”
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A56330-2005Jan7.html
Armstrong has resurfaced as a shill for Carson. Corruption breeds corruption.
Standards are standards. We, rightly, hold our opponents up to criticism and condemnation when their scams are exposed (Obama’s fake books, Obama’s fake life story, Hillary’s destruction of American foreign policy, HIllary’s criminal mishandling of classified information). When scammers are exposed in our midst, it is imperative that we clean house.
“Fake, but accurate” is an acceptable standard for our opponents. It should not be for us.

=====
kent, Westmoreland was the superintendent at West Point….
…a fact the liberal media is leaving out to smear Carson
The correct analogy would be if the President told you the ambassadorship is yours if you want it.
While the Superintendent of West Point does have a limited number of appointments (which are used for football players), Westmoreland was NOT the Superintendent in 1969.
Regardless, as this West Point Admissions officer explains, in his excellent website (from 2003), however a kid applies: “…offers are not tendered until there is a full evaluation which cannot happen until the candidate has a completed file.”
Repeat: “…OFFERS ARE NOT TENDERED UNTIL THERE IS A FULL EVALUATION…”
Which part of that is confusing? Carson did not apply. Carson DID NOT RECEIVE AN OFFER! He’s Munchausen–he inflates his stories–over and over and over.
” 2. Additional Appointees
“(A limited number given to the Superintendent USMA to use at his discretion – usually given to varsity athletes and as a means to try to conform the demographic mix of USMA with the U.S. Army’s.)…..
“So, although someone may have an LOA, it does not necessarily mean that they should receive an offer immediately. For Congressional nomination categories, depending on where they stand relative to the offer line will determine when they actually get their offer.
“And, of course, offers are not tendered until there is a full evaluation which cannot happen until the candidate has a completed file. ”
http://www.west-point.org/academy/malo-wa/educators/noms.html
kent, Westmoreland “was” the superintendent at West Point..
..and the superintendent recruits
and yes, he had the pull and clout to say what he did
Someone sure is protesting a whole lot.
YOU are the one who doesn’t understand! Carson’s statement “exaggerates” nothing. It “fakes” nothing. His reference to the “free ride” at the Academy is not unique. That he chose not to apply does not make the “offer” invalid. Your disingenuous attempt to promote this obvious left wing smear does not serve you well.
RA,
Thanks for your concern about how my statements serve me. I’m pretty comfortable with their service, thanks. As for “left wing smear,” you’re delusional! I’m dedicated to exposing and erasing the Politically Correct Progressive attacks on Normal-America–including the fraudulent global warming push to destroy our economy.
I’m just as dedicated to vetting and exposing frauds on “our side.” It’s actually one of my specialities–vetting and validating personal and professional backgrounds. The key is skeptical curiousity–that cannot be set aside because of the professed political beliefs of a subject.
“His reference to the “free ride” at the Academy is not unique. That he chose not to apply does not make the “offer” invalid. Your disingenuous attempt to promote this obvious left wing smear does not serve you well.”
The quote from Carson’s book is: “Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point,”
Nothing about a “free ride.” He said he was “OFFERED A FULL SCHOLARSHIP to West Point.”
This is not rocket science. No one can “offer a full scholarship to West Point” after having dinner with a bright kid. No one. Period.
No one has that authority. Again, Carson, an arrogant know-it-all kid (and nothing wrong with that!) may have misunderstood the conversation, that’s understandable. But that kid did not write a book. The mature Carson wrote the book, 30 years later, and made the claim.
Carson’s handlers’ reactions actually tell you all you need to know–indicative of deception. It’s textbook–admit nothing, deny everything, make counter-accusations.
Unfortunately the ability to detect indications of deception is rare. Heck the ability to actually connect the dots of more blatant manipulation is rare as I learned in industry many years ago. (I had to go step by obvious step to make a point – frustrating.) This inability to reason is why we are in the fix we are in and it was deliberately fostered by the likes of John Dewey and George Count for the last 100 years in our schools.
We here are a bunch of un-organized amateurs dealing with professionals with vast resources of brainpower and money behind them. We are normally given a choice between carefully vetted puppets. Anyone who does not have strings (Think Rubio’s TTP vote) hasn’t a pray of getting into high level politics any more.
Amen, Gail!
It’s why I spend an inordinate amount of time applying my unique skillset of deception detection, personality assessment, vetting, analysis, and fraud detection to issues of national importance.
Unfortunately, Normal-Americans are a uniquely naive lot, by our very nature–we want to believe the best of others, and to give everyone a fair chance. While an admirable characteristic, this leaves us open as easy marks for con men. And they are becoming more and more brazen in their scams.
Here are a couple scammers I uncovered in the last couple years–both scammed high level “conservative” Republican circles:
David Ramadan:
http://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2011/08/05/foreign-influence-in-american-politics-imad-ramadan-in-virginia/
Wayne Simmons:
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/oct/18/wayne-simmons-accused-fraudster-says-he-has-proof-/
Mr. Clizbe,
Why is Dr. Carson’s statement, “Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point,” evidence to you that this was an intentional lie?
What would be the purpose? I just don’t get it.
You said, “The mature Carson wrote the book, 30 years later, and made the claim.”
So?
I misremember things all the time about my life 30, 40, even 50+ years ago.
Sounds like he got pretty close. The fact that he didn’t say it as accurately as you would prefer doesn’t make it a lie. His point, that he could have gone that direction with his life (military), if he so chose, was adequately made. Why do you make this sound so insidious? This is not a very big part of his life story. It is only a very tiny piece. You are taking it out of context and blowing it up to be of some huge consequence that should make all of us worry about him being our CIC.
It is as if he said,”That morning, I got up on the right side of the bed,” and you, charging in on your “vetting and exposing fraud” steed (your specialty), shouting, “NAY! WITNESSES SAY IT WAS, IN FACT, THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BED!!!! HE LIES!!!!”
You are not just “vetting and validating”. It seems as if you are doing exactly what you claim you are not doing, a smear, because otherwise you would just state facts without being judgmental….”vetting and exposing frauds”? More like smearing the right to feed the left. And if that’s what you are doing, then fine. Just say so. Don’t try to pull the wool over our eyes, claiming you are doing this for our benefit.
Pa,
Seems pretty clear, but let me try the analogy again: When I was a kid, a local politician told me, “Son, you’re smart and really politically astute, you should be President.” A politician told me I should be President! It’s a done deal! In fact, I AM President! But, I think I’ll turn it down, and get on with my life. But, since a politician told me I should be President, I’ll just start letting everybody know that I was offered the Presidency of the USA, but i turned it down. I was offered it, wasn’t I? There’s a bit of a “process” involved in becoming President, but clearly I was offered the Presidency.
That is what Carson did in his book. Someone (and he does not claim it was Westmoreland) in the Army told him, my guess, that he would make a good candidate for the Army’s military academy. He, in his callow youth, interpreted this as being “offered a full scholarship.” Understandable, as a callow 17 year old.
But, Munchausen-like, he’s clearly been repeating this story for decades, and it’s taken on mythical status, in his mind.
No one can “offer a full scholarship” to West Point to anyone who has not gone through the process. Same for all academies. Same for elite military specialties–Green Berets, Navy SEALS, AF Para-rescue, Marine Force Recon, Rangers, etc. Any of these elite schools and jobs are potentially open to qualified applicants. Any of these schools will consider applicants based on a star-rank recommendation. NONE of them will accept, or graduate, candidates, regardless of their letters of recommendation, who don’t meet the application qualifications. None of them will “offer the qualification” to someone before they even apply.
Carson, the man, should know better. He does not. Look into a bit of his previous encounters with the truth. He claimed in a book that, in college, he had never heard of plagiarism. He was caught for plagiarism in college, and admits it. He was caught for plagiarizing sections in at least one of his books.
Just his relationship with Armstrong Williams, alone, should be enough to disqualify him. Williams was NOT hounded by “liberals.” Conservatives were disgusted with Williams’ selling his journalistic integrity.
Michelle Malkin: “There are no shades of gray about this, friends: the Bush Education Department subsidized a prominent minority conservative “journalist” with federal taxpayer dollars to sell black parents on the Teddy Kennedy-inspired No Child Left Behind boondoggle – a program that represents the largest single expansion in federal education spending since Jimmy Carter created the Education Department.
“This fiscally irresponsible, ethically challenged and possibly illegal arrangement deserves only one thing from conservatives: unqualified contempt.”
http://www.wnd.com/2005/01/28422/
They are scammers.
Voting Carson is like voting Jeb Bush. Carson is a close friend of the Bush family..
You obviously are ignorant of the respective policy positions of Bush and Carson. What on earth does being “a friend of the Bush family ” have to do with anything?
Tony, your vitriol surprises me. I lean toward David A.’s view of the matter.
Forgive me, Tony. I meant Kent Clizbe!
I am not happy with Carson for other reasons. This is the Cherry.
In the trust but verify category:
“Being accepted for admission to the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point is an exceptional honor reserved for our nation’s most promising students….”
That seems pretty clear. General Westmoreland could suggest he look into the process and help him with the process but that is all. General Westmoreland had no authority to circumvent the process although if he wanted him in Carson would have gotten in. (I tutored the daughter of a senator in math who wanted to get into vet school. She could barely add, so I know political pull counts.)
OOPs here is the URL http://www.usma.edu/admissions/_layouts/mobile/mblwiki.aspx?Url=%2Fadmissions%2FSitePages%2FApply%5FNominations%2Easpx
Note that one of the persons who could nominate was the Secretary of the Army and there General Westmoreland had a major pressure point. Also at that time they were hurting for good material to send to West Point thanks to the ‘Nam protests.
I think the truth is somewhere in between. Carson may not have cared enough to pay attention to the actual process and therefore was sloppy about what he wrote.
I’d agree with your final analysis Gail.
My friend and I both tried to get into the Naval Academy. I had better grades and a higher ACT score (99th percentile plus) but he had political pull and he got in.
I’d think the word of a Westmoreland would go a long way towards greasing the skids, especially for a minority student with excellent qualifications.
I did receive an “offer” from VMI (I guess they got referrals from Annapolis or something) but I didn’t look into it. For years I considered that to be a scholarship offer but now that I stop and look back I think there’s a good chance that wasn’t the case.
David I had a couple of boy friends who were put through school by the military. One was getting his Phd in Chem Enginering (Army) and the other in straight chemistry. (Navy) The second guy ended up working on fire retardants that could be used on ships at sea. Both had to promise several years of service in return for the free education. One of my vets went the same route (Army) they check the food supply (meat)
Carson “received an offer of a full scholarship to West Point” the same way that I was elected President of the United States.
When I was a promising lad in high school, a local politician told me, “Son, you could be President some day! You should run for it.”
There you go! I was elected president! I’ve been putting my administration on my resume ever since! Is that wrong? Racist!
Carson has but a passing relationship with the truth, honor, and duty. In college, at the age of 20 or so, in 1970 or so, Carson admits that he had been a plagiarizer through his high school and college career (see quote below). One of his books was also rife with “borrowed” passages, which he blamed on his editors.
His excuse in college? He “frankly, I…had never even heard of the term plagiarism” ! ! ! ! ! !
“In Carson’s book, he writes about being caught plagiarizing in college and being given the chance to rewrite the paper after it was discovered.
“Not long after that, when I was a psychology major delving into the mysteries of the human mind, I stepped unknowingly into yet another moral dilemma. During my research for one of the papers in an advanced psychology course, I found some passages that seemed particularly appropriate, and I included them in my writing. I did not, however, indicate that this was the work of someone else; frankly, I had never even heard of the term plagiarism. When the professor asked me to make an appointment to discuss my paper, I was befuddled . When I stepped into his office, however, I could immediately sense the weight of the moment. He pointed out that I had plagiarized and told me that the consequences for doing so normally included expulsion. I could see all of my dreams of becoming a doctor dashed by my stupidity. Even though I did not know the implications of plagiarism,”
http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/ben-carson-book#.cevr7JaN1r
You are being scammed.
This joker is a con man from way back. Run, don’t walk, the other way !
Kent, The Westmoreland /West Point mess I consider a very minor point.
These are the major points of why I do not like Carson. (He is a RINO)
#1. Carson supports TPP
The Trans-Pacific Partnership – the biggest trade deal in a generation … of any trade agreement in history, and those commitments are enforceable As far as I can tell it is similar to the European Union with similar a surrender of sovereignty and open borders.
Ben Carson Backs White House’s TPP Trade Deal
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
#2. Carson on our right to bear Arms
Sep 30, 2015 Ben Carson’s Anti- Second Amendment Stance Has Left-wing Liberals Drooling! ====> http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/03/04/dr_benjamin_carson_on_gun_control_it_depends_on_where_you_live.html
That is the same as you see in Australia and the UK. You need government permission to own a gun. It is not a RIGHT but a privilege that can be taken away at any time.
Since that went over like a lead balloon he is backpedaling fast.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
#3. Carson supports giving guest-worker status to millions of undocumented workers but doesn’t call it by it’s right name Amnesty. This is THE EXACT SAME POSITION WE GOT FROM BUSH BUT THE WALL WAS NEVER BUILT! — an Empty promise.
Carson supports giving guest-worker status to millions of undocumented immigrants without criminal records.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
#4. Carson says climate change is justification for a 30% ethanol standard.
Ben Carson: wrong on ethanol
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
#5. Carson on OBAMACARE
“I think the banning of people being turned away from health insurance because of pre-existing conditions is one of very few bright spots in an otherwise horribly written law,” Carson said. That sure sounds like he would be open to a ‘better written law’
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I also find his wearing his Christianity on his sleeve off putting.
Gail,
While those specific points are spot-on, the real fact is: Carson has no political beliefs!
He is simply a fund-raising scam.
His handlers have the formula down pat: Herman Cain was their first “white-guilt” candidate.
The candidate’s views, beliefs, convictions, record, experience–nothing matters! Because they are handled by fund-raisers. The fund-raisers write emails, make videos, graphics, advertising spots that do not require anything but a dark face. The advertising geniuses fill in the words, thoughts, feelings, images.
Richard Eberle, who ran “The Amazing Herman Cain Money Machine” was the brains behind the “Draft Ben Carson” fund-raising campaign.
“Mr. Eberle seems to specialize in raising money for black Republicans who go nowhere. The Cain campaign was a complete failure, which means all those donors wasted their money. The same goes for Mr. Robinson’s congressional campaigns, which were also complete failures. But for the people who are paid to raise money, campaigns mean a fat paycheck, win or lose.”
“But why should we care if slick operators fleece the public? The tragedy is what goes on in the imaginations of so many gullible Republican voters. They are so beaten down by two terms of Barack Obama, so beleaguered by constant accusations of racism from the media and the academy, and so desperate for Republicans to shake off even implicit whiteness, that they are willing to believe most anything that sounds both comforting and even remotely plausible. What could sound better to a naively colorblind Republican than a bright black man who will talk sense about economics, prove to the left that racism is over, and lead the Republicans to victory? People like Bruce Eberle, John Sousa, and Vernon Robinson are making millions cashing in on the burning desire of so many conservatives to shed the “racist” label.”
http://www.vdare.com/articles/the-ben-carson-money-machine
“What did Carson know, and when did he know it”?
“Carson lied, scholarships died.”
“Jet fuel can’t melt scolarships!!”
OK, Kent,
I see what your point is now. Herman Cain and Carson are the same as Obama’s Taxpayer backed Green Energy failures. Talk and spin and siphon up other people’s money.
Unfortunately that seems to be the major ‘business plan’ in the USA these days.
Gail,
Actually Cain and Carson ARE Obama. Slickly packaged guilt-trips.
I’m not necessarily endorsing Carson, but to claim that he’s not a legit conservative is dis-honest. I’ve known about Carson being a conservative for maybe 20 years well before the there was any money in it.
To use and old phrase from the Bard, ” the lady doth protest too much, methinks”

Frank,
A Normal-American committed to renewing the greatest country in the world after 8 years of Politically Correct Progressive lies, deceit, and destruction.
Secondarily, a candidate who will destroy the crony capitalist/Establishment/neo-conservative clique which has stolen the “conservative” label in the GOP.
If the establishment GOP is torn apart by internal dissension, so be it. The Boehner/Ryan/McCain party won power in both houses of Congress by promising reform and resistance to the PC-Progs. All they did was climb in bed with Obama’s minions.
We see the results in NOAA, EPA, and worse.
At least you know the PC-Progs are aiming to destroy our culture. The Establishment GOP smiles in your face, tells you what you want to hear, and funds NOAA, the EPA, Obamacare fully while the country is invaded by thousands of criminals every day.
So…who do you support? Trump? Please tell us who…
Frank,
You’ve got the criteria. We’ll see who the candidates are that meet those criteria.
Vetting scammers and eliminating con men is much easier than finding candidates to meet requirements.
Who do you support? Please tell us….
Never mind. You don’t want to answer a simple question…
I don’t think there’s a candidate out there with genuine conservative philosophies. I don’t believe Carson can be trusted. He’ll paint a conservative picture of himself and will then, if elected, turn his back on you. The entire West Point issue is much ado about nothing, except that it manufactures endless press for him, galvanizes voter position, and bolsters his election coffers.
Frank, as an outsider (Aussie)
I think you should be prepared to answer your own question first.
If it not a question you choose to answer yourself, why should anyone else.?
Just sayin’ 😉
AndyG55 – In this thread we have a person who I’ve never seen comment at this site before before suddenly appear and start trashing one candidate. So, obviously, this person must have an agenda (or a candidate) which compels him to do this with such vigor. I just asked a simple question, and he refused to answer. Very telling…
As for my favored candidate, I like both Rand Paul and Marco Rubio. I’m not a Trump fan, but I have enjoyed seeing him bash the MSM. And likewise I admire both Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina for standing up to the left wing hate machine that seems to have been unleashed on any female or African American Republican. In end, I hope we have someone that will have the mandate to beat back the extreme left-wing progressives which have infected (and attempted to destroy) our country and its traditions. I am confident this will happen and will everything in my power to make it so.
I hope Kent sees your response and decides to answer.
Down here we had Tony Abbott, who with time would have started battering the progressives. Unfortunately, he was undermined and then usurped by a leftist progressive “pretty-boi” who has done nothing of his own since the back-stabbing.
oops, I should have read down the thread further.

Where have you been? I’ve seen his posts plenty. I think Kent is calling it as he sees it. In honestly trying to answer you, which candidate fits Clizbe’s parameters? (“….a candidate who will destroy the crony capitalist/Establishment/neo-conservative clique which has stolen the “conservative” label in the GOP.”)
As for your mentions, I like Paul (his father even better), but Rand cannot seem to get traction, and I don’t think Rube fits Clizbe’s criteria above.
And Frank, Kent has been around for quite a long time.
A regular over several years.
Bingo.
The New Yorks Times: “All the news that’s shit, we print”
Media ignored the over 30 lies in Obama’s book:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-journalism/2015/11/09/carsons-right-in-2008-the-media-ignored-more-than-30-lies-in-obamas-bio/
Marco Rubio is the only candidate with a change of winning an election against dems in the US my view for what its worth due to large Latin, Black ect vote plus large white vote as well plus business experience. Also young clean with proven experience and excellent talking skills. Also a skeptic
Rubio is another no go
That says to me he is OWNED by the transnational corporations and is just another RINO like Jeb Bush, the Twig.
Gail – I think you’re spot-on.
A recruiting ad, for West Point, that ran in 1991 issue of Black Enterprise clearly states they are offered “full government scholarships.”

If only the media showed this much intrest in vetting candidates 8 years ago…….
The MSM is owned by the international Globalist Elite. They WANT a one world government and that means the destruction of the USA which the have just about achieved.
From Dinn at Jo Nova’s This is why support of TTP is at the top of my list. It is the EUropean Union all over again where the states are no longer Sovereign nations Thanks to the primacy of EU law over National Law. This is why the transnational corporations were invited to the negotiating table but American and other citizens were not.
Frank,
Not to be too personal, but if your critical thinking skills are on par with your skills of observation you may want to re-think your positions.
“In this thread we have a person who I’ve never seen comment at this site before before suddenly appear and start trashing one candidate. Since you’ve “never seen” me comment, therefore it’s obvious I have an agenda? I’m not too good at dates, but I think it’s safe to say that I’ve shared occasional comments on Tony’s blogs for more than 5 years.
I’ve been pretty active globally taking on the climate scammers for many years. I had, and still have, an effort to encourage whistleblowers in Mann’s labs to come forward and tell the truth.
http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/news/jamesdelingpole/100021135/climategate-michael-manns-very-unhappy-new-year/
I’m on the enemies list of the climate scam PR firm:
http://www.desmogblog.com/cia-vet-stalking-hockey-stick-author-mike-mann
I perform vetting for national conservative candidates and parties, and have exposed national scams run against naive conservatives for the last few election cycles. The most recent of these was my 5 year vetting effort that exposed a fraudulent “conservative CIA officer” who had been a commentator on Fox News for 13 years. He’s now in jail, awaiting trial for major fraud against the US government.
http://intelctweekly.blogspot.com/2015/10/fake-conservative-fox-news-ct-expert.html
I’ve written a book that exposes the who/what/where/why/how of the operations that created Politically Correct Progressivism, which includes the AGW scam designed to destroy capitalism.
http://www.willingaccomplices.com
Of course, you could have have found all that with Bing.com yourself (it’s called “vetting”). You might want to turn those critical thinking skills towards the fund-raisers playing on your guilt to make Carson rich.
To be fair to Frank, your name didn’t look familiar to me either and I was thinking along the same lines as he was. I’m more or a lurker than a prolific poster so I didn’t say anything. Oddly enough the fact that you have a picture rather than an icon by your name was a deciding factor in my deciding not to challenge you. Maybe it looked familiar to me.
Given your credentials above I grant that you’re not just a Trump plant as I had assumed. I apologize.
Nowadays there are a lot of “astroturf” shills out there on the Internet (at least on the Left, they actually give seminars) who will jump in and pretend to be long time members.
So cut Frank some slack. We see a lot of shills on this site from the AGW crowd.
BTW, not a big Carson fan here but I don’t think he’s just in it for the $$. I’m not a big fan of any of the R candidates this time although I’ll vote for the nominee as opposed to HC. I don’t think ANY of the candidates meet the criteria you outlined above.
No need to apologize, brother Dave! Believe me, I deal with much more nasty attacks regularly.
The point is that we should be more thorough in vetting–even in comments on blogs. If we are ignorant about an issue, it is worthwhile to take a couple minutes to acquaint yourself with the issue before sharing your thoughts. Yes, shills from the PC-Prog camp are prolific. They are pretty easy to spot. I use my real name. I’m out in the open. My story and background is available for any to see.
My work exposing Wayne Simmons (the 13 year fake “CIA commentator” on Fox) was much more dangerous to my health than answering Frank. But the Simmons story is nearly a perfect parallel to the Carson story–both spout what sounds like “conservative” themes. Both have powerful enablers in the background, pushing them for their own purposes. Conservatives naively believe them. Conservatives naively think that speaking the truth about the scammers is bad.
The fact is that the truth is all that we have. If we accept scammers to represent us, what are we left with? An empty platform that collapses of its own weight.
Kent does appear here occasionally. I have read his book Willing Accomplices: How KGB Covert Influence Agents Created Political Correctness and Destroyed America as well as “Spies: The Rise and Fall of the KGB in America”
Both books confirm a lot of what I have seen and read over the years. Let’s face it. You are not going much further than dog catcher in todays politics without kissing the A$$$ of the Globalist elite. My town is so dirty you can not even get a thief into court because he is a paying customer to the Drug Lords who rule this town.
Guys, before slamming Clizbe anymore I suggest you read America’s Ruling Class
Westmoreland was appointed superintendent at West Point in 1960…
…of course he had the pull the get Carson in
And any appointment to West Point is a full scholarship
Carson babbling about things he doesn’t understand–the military: “Well, putting the special ops people in there is better than not having them there because they — that’s why they’re called special ops. They’re actually able to guide some of the other things that we’re doing there.”
Looks like he should have taken up that notional “offer.”
In way over his head and faking it. Disgraceful.
But, send cash now! It’ll prove you’re not a racist!

3rd party or Hillary? Actually those are one in the same.
