The New York Times says that global warming is making the glaciers in Glacier National Park disappear by 2050.
Climate studies have predicted changes if emissions, and temperatures, continue to rise through the end of this century.

Postcards From Milder Winters, Recent and Future – The New York Times
The press was saying the exact same thing a century ago, and said that the glaciers would be gone by 1950.

According to NASA data, this disintegration was occurring during the coldest years on record. CO2 was 305 PPM CO2.
Glaciers have been melting for 20,000 years, since New York was buried under thousands of feet of ice.
“The trouble with our Liberal friends is not that they’re ignorant; it’s just that they know so much that isn’t so.”
- Ronald Reagan
NRDC and Protect our Winters are two of the sources for this disinformation. Chris Steinkamp of POW pulls down a very nice $90,000 per year as executive director. Not bad for an organization whose entire budget was less than $550,000.
I love the Ronald Reagan quote. A perfect example of liberal lack of intelligence occurred yesterday in California. State Senator Fran Pavley was congratulating herself on the “progress” that California has made fighting greenhouse gas emissions. Meanwhile, the Porter Ranch gas leak is emitting the equivalent of 6 coal fired power plants. It never occurs to these clueless California politicians that the money that they are throwing away on worthless “renewable energy” could be used instead in repairing California’s rotten natural gas infrastructure.
Your point has some validity, but the leak you are referring to is the responsibility of SoCalGas.
Ditto, especially the Reagan quote. S oo applicable to the climate hysteria.

Don Easterbrook studied the Mt Baker glaciers (just over the hills from Glacier Nat Park), and puts this sort of childish ignorant alarmism in its place.

Here’s one of the graphs.

I went on Google Earth and looked at Jackson Glacier. The latest image was taken 26 Jul 2014. Using the timeline slider they have, I looked at the glacier from the same spot taken on 25 Aug 1991. There is essentially no change in ice cover and it actually looks like there may be more in 2014 (I’m not taking into account the extra month of melt in 1991).
