Third Party Candidates

In 1992, Ross Perot put Bill and Monica Clinton in the Oval Office, along with Monica’s sidekick Hillary.

But his run wasn’t exactly what it seemed.

Oscar Wyatt was the chairman of Coastal Corporation in Houston, and he was the guy J.R. Ewing was based on. I was dating Oscar Wyatt’s legal secretary from 1988 to 1991 and heard all the daily gossip from the real life “Dallas”. Wyatt, John Connally and Ross Perot hated Bush, and Perot ran as a third party candidate in 1992 – just to keep Bush out of the White House.

It never had anything to do with principles. If you think you are voting for a third party candidate based on principles, think again.

  1. I bet I can run as a third party candidate to keep Hystery out. I’ll run on the Neocom party, I can spew Marxist epithets like the best of ’em. I’ll even run Bernie Santa Claus as my running mate.

Oh wait. Bernie might run as a third party candidate. That would be perfect. He can use Bill Maher as his running mate, both are commies. Never mind.

    • darrylb says:

Maybe somebody should run on the green party ticket just to split a vote.

Actually, I am very interested in environmental needs. But the greens are continually barking up the wrong tree, causing a distrust in scientists who display integrity and help to overlook really serious problems. Of which the greatest is IMO

WATER,, where it is, where it isn’t and what is in it. When aquifers become exceedingly low and start to increase in salinity to a greater degree, there will be much anguish.

      • The watermelons successfully coopted the conservationist movement starting in the 70s, not just here but worldwide. Once that fact is understood, everything else starts making sense. They are not barking up the wrong tree. They’ve been after this from the beginning, the environment be damned. Of course, there are also scores of useful idiots going along who have no clue which way is up.

I should know—there plenty of those among my friends and neighbors.

        • The econazis are the New Left mutated into warmed over National Socialism with environmental instead of racial purity as its banner. They and the GOP deserve each other.

      • And let’s not forget this:

Green Is The Color of Status
Alas, this isn’t about St. Patrick’s Day but about trendy snobbery that hurts the poor.
        By Marita Noon – 3.17.16

Researchers have found that some buyers are willing to pay for environmentally friendly products because those products are “status symbols.” A report in the Atlantic states:

Environmentally-friendly behaviors typically go unseen; there’s no public glory in shortened showers or diligent recycling. But when people can use their behavior to broadcast their own goodness, their incentives shift. The people who buy Priuses and solar panels still probably care about the environment—it’s just that researchers have found that a portion of their motivation might come from a place of self-promotion, much like community service does good and fits on a résumé.

With “green” having become a status symbol, the affluent can afford it. Yet, their desire to “broadcast their own goodness” actually results in higher costs to those who can least afford it.

  4. rachase says:

A protest “non-vote” for Trump will have the same effect and result as a vote FOR Hillary or whoever the Left’s candidate is. Ditto for a third party candidate as was pointed out. The old adage is very clear: Do not cut off you nose just to spite your face. When you have two bad choices, at least have the sense to make a choice of the lesser evil. It is called exercising WISDOM.

    • RAH says:

Exactly. Elections are usually not about voting for who you want but choosing between what you believe to be the lesser of two evils or IOW voting to keep the candidate who represents your own values the least out of office. I will hold my nose and vote for Trump if he is the Republican nominee. The way I see it those that claim to be conservatives and will not vote are in effect voting for Hillary. It’s that simple.
And something to think about. During the next presidents term probably at least three vacancies will be filled if not four on the SCOTUS. IOW the next president during their first term will have the opportunity to skew the ideological balance of the highest court in the land in the direction of their own ideology. If that person gets a second term they will most likely fill at least one more vacancy.

Wanna empower the likes of Hillary to destroy the 2nd amendment? Write Obama care in stone? Take over the US power grid as they did health care? Increase the porosity of our borders and have your vote weakened even more than it has been already by the flood of illegals? Then just stay home and not vote for trump CHUMPS!

      • An Inquirer says:

You are right when you talk about SCOTUS. I have never been as disgusted with the Republican voters as I am now. Republicans had the opportunity of a lifetime in 2016. Never before has such a golden chance been given to a group of voters to set the country on the right course. But Republican voters (with the aid of some Democrats) have blown it. It will not be the stay-at-home voters that give Hillary the White House, It will be those voters from February to June whose anger led them to chose Trumpism over Republicanism.

        • RAH says:

“An Inquirer says: It will not be the stay-at-home voters that give Hillary the White House, It will be those voters from February to June whose anger led them to chose Trumpism over Republicanism.”

I could not disagree more with that statement.

        • Barbara says:

I agrre with you RAH. It is not the Republican voters who are at fault in the present gridlock. They want to be heard; but paid disrupters and most horribly, the elites of the GOP are doing their best to obstruct the will of the people. I am neither ignorant nor stupid, and I believe that Trump is our best hope of cleaning up the bought and paid for politicians of both parties. Note: It isn’t racist to ” call a spade a spade”, probably revealing my age here. Also, I find that slick, polished, professional politician oratory really sickens me these days.

        • RAH says:

A 3′ x 5′ Gadsden flag flies right under a 4′ x 6′ stars and stripes on the 30′ lighted flag pole in my front yard. The Gadsden flies for more than one reason but one of those reasons is because it is a symbol the Tea Party adopted. The Tea Party made it more than clear that the conservative base of the Republican party was not happy and yet the party establishment first ignored them and then fought them. No it was not the conservative Republican voters that brought us Trump. It was the likes of Karl Rove and the Republican establishment which fostered the conditions where a candidate like Trump may win the party nomination with strong majority support from the party electorate. If the damned establishment had listened and have stopped acting like they want to be democrat lite they wouldn’t be in the position they are now.

        • gator69 says:

I have been displaying a Gadsden flag since I was a boy. I started with a small flag on my bedroom wall, and now fly a 4X6 flag along side my other American flag. It was nice when the Tea Party adopted it, and I began seeing them all over. I have a stack of Gadsden flag stickers I hand out to people I meet, as long as they promise to display it with pride and respect.

        • Bob Greene says:

RAH: Are those the same stupid Republican voters who, between 2010 and 2014, voted in enough Republicans to give them control of the Senate and House based on promises of actions that the elite never intended to honor? And which candidate should those stupid voters have backed? Bush who started his campaign by running against the conservative base?

The Republican elite would rather see Hillary in the White House than a candidate who is not their handpicked boy. That’s the attitude we had in Virginia during the last gubernatorial election. The elite learned nothing when House Majority Leader Eric Cantor lost in primaries. Cantor lost because he was arrogant and contemptuous of voters in his district.

        • RAH says:

Bob Greene the establishment House and Senate leadership has had a whole lot to do with the blunting the effect of the new Republican blood that entered the HR. The normal cycle of things is that the part of the POTUS looses seats in Congress during midterms and BTW the Republican establishment fought many Tea Party candidates during those years.

        • An Inquirer says:

I understand the disappointment, frustration, and anger. But it is so illogical to deal with those emotions by handing the presidency, SCOTUS, and possible other powers to Left Wingers. And this loss will not be just for four years. The SCOTUS impact will be suffered for 25 years, and likely we will never recover.
No matter how disappointed you are in your spouse, he or she is not your enemy. No matter how disappointed you are in what you call the establishment, They are not the enemy. But by calling them the enemy, you give the White House and SCOTUS to Left Wingers.
In your mind, you can logically explain why Trump is better than Hillary, but the swing vote of low-information voters will decide the election, and those low-information will never see your logic. Low-information voters will tilt key voting blocks toward Hillary. Trump will be lucky to get 33% of the female vote. He will be lucky to get 10% of the Hispanic vote. What Republicans needed to accomplish in the next four years could have been accomplished with Walker or Fiona or Rubio or non-Trump presidency. But because of anger-induced stupid actions, we are handing the presidency to Hillary.

      • nobama says:

Rah, agreed. Regarding the SCOTUS picks: The efforts I observe prevailing on the Progstain left today are not even on the wish list of any rational left winger. We all know here that the climate scam isn’t about climate, or even really the environment. But Prog desires seem to be the obliteration of all rational structure of society. Importing millions of Muslims who openly vow to bring subjugation to Sharia? Women in combat? OCCUPATION of legitimate private enterprise? Revolutionary riots where even sympathetic small businesses are trashed to the point of closure? Defecating on police vehicles?

It seems to me the issues going before the SCOTUS are designed to dismantle the country entirely. Culture, sovereignty, law itself. The monster that has control of us seems to me to be Satanic.

Whatever battle the left pretends to fight, you can be sure it is a diversion. Climate is the obvious example. But I would submit that gay marriage isn’t about providing fairness to gays, either. The left is maniacally hedonistic. Gay marriage seems to be a vehicle to pit the rule of one law against another…hoping to dismantle Christianity…. and may also be a back door to plural marriage to allow Muslims to radically overpopulate upon arrival. And don’t think paedophelia legalization won’t be right around the corner. Then I suspect they’d move to beastiality, and then Necrophelia. For some reason, “Progressive” ideology is a progression into depravity.

Continued control of US policies by the US National Academy of Sciences is one of the main “dark” contenders in the 2016 Presidential campaign, as former President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned on 17 January 1961:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=m3VIFmZpFco

The amount of influence (funds) controlled by the US NAS – through annual reviews of budgets of federal research agencies – is enormous. That is the main reason why the AGW debate continues today, more than six years after Climategate emails revealed fraudulent global temperature data.

    • omanuel says:

Sorry, the above video shows the NASA Administrator speaking in 1998, thirty-seven years after Eisenhowers’ 1961 warning about the US National Academy of Sciences taking control of US Policies:

      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GOLld5PR4ts

The US National Academy of Sciences apparently became the front for Stalin’s science thirty years earlier when nations and national Academies of Sciences were united worldwide on 24 October 1945:

      https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GOLld5PR4ts

      • omanuel says:

CONGRESSIONAL CONTROL OF GOVERNMENT FUNDING was designed to keep the President from becoming the tyrannical head of an Imperial Executive Branch of government. After many new federal research agencies were established to protect the US from Russian domination after their launch of Sputnik in 1957 – (during the Eisenhower Administration) – that CHECK & BALANCE was destroyed by allowing the US National Academy of Sciences (a private, self-perpetuating group) to continue to review the huge annual budgets of federal research agencies for Congress – NASA, DOE, NSF, EPA, NOAA, etc.

The US National Academy of Sciences uses the budgets of federal research agencies to direct US policies along the lines of UN’s Agenda 21.

    • omanuel says:

Stalin’s science was used to deceive and control the public after WWII:

      1. The internal composition of the Sun was changed from:
_ a.) Mostly iron (Fe) in 1945 to
      _ b.) Mostly hydrogen (H) in 1946
      2. The definition of nuclear stability was changed from:
_ a.) Minimum value of Aston’s nuclear packing fraction before WWII to
_ b.) Maximum value of Weizsacker’s average nuclear binding energy after WWII

      https://www.researchgate.net/publication/281017812_STALIN'S_SCIENCE

The deception may peacefully end if Nature agrees to publish the paper now under review, “Solar energy,”

      https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/Solar_Energy.pdf

Thanks to Climategate, the deception will end anyway . . . hopefully without violence!

If Cruz and Trump would join forces, instead of trying to defeat each other, society would better served.

        • omanuel says:

Society lost, not only the integrity of government science, but also the integrity of the government designed by our forefathers to protect our God-given rights to enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and also the right to abolish any government that becomes destructive of these purposes.

        • omanuel says:

My support for Ted Cruz wavered when George Bush endorsed Ted’s efforts to stop Trump. Working together, Cruz and Trump might be able to halt the deterioration of our nation. Selfishly fighting each other, they assure its further decline.

that would be a case of:

    • Barbara says:

Henry P., I turn all my lights ON in protest of the present day environmental nonsense. I, like Tony, believe that I am a true conservator of the earth’s bounty, but it is energy that gives us the ability to truly take care of the environment and save human lives, too.

  7. markstoval says:

The system that we have now is set up to protect the two main parties. They both serve the real rulers of the U.S. Empire. The two main parties serve to keep everyone fighting among themselves and failing to see that your masters are bleeding you dry as we head into a police state that Stalin would envy.

Voting for a 3rd party like the Libertarian Party (not really libertarians) or the Constitutional Party or whatever is a way to register a protest at the system — but your masters already know that some of us hate them. Your protest vote just makes you feel better, but does no good at all.

At some point, the people must withdraw their consent to be governed by the evil that is the politics of the U.S. Empire. At some point the people must recoil at the war on some drugs, murder of women and children overseas, looting of the middle class, and so on.

In the words of America’s best newspaperman:

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. ~ H. L. Mencken

  8. Ross Perot was an individual clown with money. A political party with principles is something completely different and changes the laws and Constitution through spoiler votes. But maybe my scrutiny of every platform since 1840 is wrong. To disprove it, name the Communist candidates who got elected and put Manifesto plank 2 into the Constitution. OK, try something easier: name the Prohibition Party members who got elected and made beer a felony. No such thing? Well then learn that integrity–loyalty to one’s own principles–is more than its own reward. Integrity and persistence repealed prohibition, got rid of the draft, attained individual rights for women, is legalizing weed, and with a little less cowardice and collaboration with the superstitious enemies of rights, freedom and life, could repeal the communist income tax. Superstition, altruism and ignorance have integrity too, and will prevail unless opposed on ethical and scientific grounds.

  9. AndyG55 says:

I reckon Cruz should just cut his losses, making sure Trump gets the number to become the Republican candidate.

    Then become Trump’s running mate.

    Trump President, Cruz vice president

That would really stir up some fun in AGW, greenie, PC, far-left totalitariuan circles 🙂

    • There is no significant difference between God’s Own Prohibitionists and the econazis, and all argumentos for either mean that Hitlerism is Better than Stalinism or vice versa. Here is how it makes you look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7OYdc5tr_o
Mysticism is compatible with dictatorships, not science, and one genuine partisan spoiler vote is worth ten collaborationist ballots.

      • gator69 says:

You do realize that is a parody created by leftists. Or maybe you don’t. Because you have already proven that you lack the ability to critically evaluate subjects independently. You claim that wildly different things are the same, which indicates a mental incapacity, a mental illness, or both.

A Trump-Cruz ticket would be lucky to get 100 electoral votes.

oh….. you mean among the left-wing pseudo-republican hacks you talk to.

roflmao…. We had all noted how unpopular Trump is…… irks you badly, doesn’t it. . 😉

maybe put in one of those guys getting 2-3% of the republican vote.. yeah.. that’ll work !

  10. GalfromMass says:

19,142,063 low information voters actually started the downfall of America by voting for Ross Perot. Those foolish “useful idiots” no one should ever vote third party until there actually is a third party that is as powerful and well known as the Republicans and Democrats, most likely not in our lifetimes.

This government is so corrupt is it sickening. I live in one of, if not the most corrupt state in the Union, Massachusetts. It is despicable, it is all about the money and the power, if voters think these people run for office to help the voters they are so wrong. The career politicians run to help themselves. Our roads look like Swiss cheese with all the potholes, winter, spring, summer, and fall, what happened to the money for road repair? Only God and the corrupt politicians know.

The GOP is making a big mistake with their stop Trump efforts, I hope and pray it backfires on them which all indications seem to be leaning in that direction. I also hope all these windbag commentators who are stirring the pot lose their jobs and see how they like it.

We do not need another career politician in office, any office. We need a businessman and if he does not work out, could it be any worse than what we have now.

I really get a kick out of people who say that Trump does not know anything about foreign policy, but Obama did? Really, a Community Organizer, a first term Senator who voted “present” on important issues, who has made a mess of the Middle East along with his cohort money-grubber Hillary as Secretary of State.

Let’s be honest, Valerie Jarrett is doing a lousy job as President.

    HELP!!!!!

  11. ricks2014 says:

It could all be happening again with “devastating” consequences !

Hillary Clinton and Old Man Nut-Job easily win the election !!!!

3 New Supreme Court Justices are the nominated and they will be “Ultra-Leftists” !!!!!

    America Destroyed !

    Second Amendment gone !!

The People lose the ability to protect themselves !!!

    Facist State !!!!

Civil War when the Facist States of America tell (Force!) law abiding citizens to hand over the weapons !!!!!

    Short-but-not-Sweet !

    America finished !!

    End of Days !!!

That “thing” rises (Comes) to power !!!!

And You can see His Children already shutting down opposition speach, closing off roads, waiting in line to be the first to get His approval, on the forehand or forehead !!!!!

    END-OF-DAYS !!!!!! !!!!!! !!!!!!

And worst of all, the Republican Party (Supposedly God Fearing Conservative Christians?) STARTED THE CLOCK ??????

    Worst Case Scenario…

    Pathetic !
