Wouldn’t you know it. I was just looking at my bookmarks and found this BBC article from 2007 saying the Arctic would be ice free by 2013. They even used super computers. To bad they didn’t use some common sense.

      for a superhoax
      you need a supercomputer.

(btw- it could be the most non-super home computer.Put shitty data in it,
      get shitty results)

    • John F. Hultquist says:

Jonathan Amos is still writing about science and doing other things for the BBC.
Perhaps he has learned to be less wrong than he was 11 years ago.

Even the route along the Russian coast was only open for a short while this year !

  3. Norilsk says:

  4. arn says:

Well-that’s not much at all,as according to Hansen huge parts of manhattan are
    under water now(autumn 2018)

  5. DCA says:

If the Arctic was LOSING a Manhattan of ice every 27 seconds, we can be sure it would be front page news!

  6. Mr GrimNasty says:

If you look at the DMI 80N mean temp. chart – mark the current plot end, then click back a year at a time – give or take a fraction, it’s the same year after year, despite wildly different plots to get there.

    Spookier than Halloween.

    • Phil. says:

And yet over the last 20 years the winter temperature has gone up by 8º, spring by 3.5º, fall by 4.5º, summer stayed the same. So I don’t see how you can claim that?

  7. frederik wisse says:

Yesterday i was cutoff writing my condolences for the innocent victims in Pittsburg on your site . That was real cute . And analyzing the handshakes of Netanyahoo …….As a european i would like to emphasize that all state-owned weather buros here are heavily politicised and that any publication from them should be digested with a large grain of salt to prevent vomiting .

  8. Michael Hill says:

I’m not fully educated on climate change but from what I have read that the average temperature has dropped approximately 0.5 degrees Celsius in the last two years. Greenland ice sheet has expanded. And with the artic sea ice increase. Maybe we are responsible for mother nature doing her thing. Let’s all stop breathing so we don’t deplete the oxygen. Well the ones that say we are responsible for all that is part of a natural cycle of the earth. Stop climate change. Stop nature. Or just stop ignorant people
