NCAR 1970 : Fossil Fuels To Cause An Ice Age By 2033

In 1970, the top climate scientists at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO determined that fossil fuels will cause an ice age in the next fifteen years, and boil away all of America’s rivers.

Back in 1970 continental drift wasn’t the mainstream accepted science it is now.

As research progresses, ideas move on and in the 70s it began to become apparent that human caused warming driven by CO2 was actually the main climate driver

Continental Drift is no longer an accepted theory, it was replaced by Plate Tectonics 50 years ago, you moron.

By 1966 most scientists in geology accepted the theory of plate tectonics. The root of this was Alfred Wegener’s 1912 publication of his theory of continental drift, which was a controversy in the field through the 1950s. At that point scientists introduced new evidence in a new way, replacing the idea of continental drift with instead a theory of plate tectonics. The acceptance of this theory brought scientific and cultural change which commentators called the “Plate Tectonics Revolution”.

Why do you hate poor brown people? Is it out of ignorance like you just displayed?

In 1970, the scientific consensus rejected rational thinking about geology, just as they do now about climate.

***As research progresses, ideas move on and in the 70s it began to become apparent that human caused warming driven by CO2 was actually the main climate driver***
I call Bull on that. there is no research that shows CO2 is the main climate driver.
Only mass speculation based on a bad assumption. Get your facts correct.
By the way you still have not answered my old question:
Show me a paper that MEASURES warming caused by CO2.
      Waiting…………..

    • AndyDC says:

Yes, it became very apparent that CO2 was the main driver of climate right at the same time that the US was having its three most severe consecutive winters on record (1977, 1978 & 1979). With major US cities like Chicago, Boston and Buffalo being paralyzed for weeks at a time. When Miami was having snow. But at least those years provided the alarmists with a massive cherry pick for their fraudulent charts.

“human caused warming driven by CO2 was actually the main climate driver”

What a LOAD OF UNSUPPORTABLE ANTI-SCIENCE BALDERDASH.

There is actually ZERO empirical science that shows that atmospheric CO2 causes any warming what so ever.

Atmospheric CO2 has not been measured as warming anything, anywhere, anytime.

      You have been CONNED, griff,

.. because you are an IGNORANT, GULLIBLE, MINDLESS twerp. !

If you think you have empirical evidence, then PRODUCE IT !

Mindless yapping and bed-wetting is NOT evidence..

.. neither are ASSumption based models.

    • Stephen Wille says:

And in the coming years, we’ll learn that was all based on faulty models build by tree-hugging scientists, and that the sun is the main driver of climate, and that CO2 has no measurable effect on temprature.

    • Scott says:

By 1970, atmospheric CO2 was at it’s highest amount at that point in the 20th century. Yet in the prior 30ish years, Earth had cooled slightly.

The rate of warming from 1910 – 1940 is roughly the same as the rate of warming from 1970-2000. Yet atmospheric CO2 was, on average, around 25% higher in the latter period. If CO2 is the control knob, why wasn’t the rate of warming 25% higher in the latter period?

It looks to me like the theory has been falsified by reality.

James P. Lodge, Jr. said “blah blah …” [1970]

Has this dude been heard from since?
Maybe he retired to a south sea island.

  3. Stephen Wille says:

And in the coming years, we’ll learn that was all based on faulty models build by tree-hugging scientists, and that the sun is the main driver of climate, and that CO2 has no measurable effect on temperature.

With the call for “less wasteful standard of living” i presume this referred to us citizens other than ncar scientists.
