250 Billion Tons Of Excess Ice In Greenland

Over the past three years, Greenland’s surface has gained 250 billion tons more ice than “normal.”

2017 : +200 billion   2018 : +150 billion   2019 :  -100 billion

2017   2018  2019

Climate alarmists are like bad gamblers.  The count only their winnings, and ignore their larger losings.  Which is just one reason why they are so completely clueless, incompetent and morally bankrupt.

They have determined that three days of relatively mild weather signals the apocalypse.

Which is exactly what you are doing here, you count the ‘winnings’ of the Greenland ice but ignore the ‘losing’ due to the glaciers! The net loss in ice is about 250 GT/year.

It is certainly a form of mental illness for a person that is not and has not been directly effected by the terrestrial ice conditions to obsess continually about them. Tony is toying with you fools while at the same time challenging those that know better but push the scam and pull your strings like they are playing with a marionette.

      No data, little PHAILure !

(and no, don’t give us gravity-based measurements over a known volcanic sac, that would display your ignorance too much)

For your education, if you decide to actually LEARN for a change…

You CAN CHOOSE not to be perpetually ignorance, phail !!

Here is the Greenland Ice Mass graphed since 1900.

Phil- the year we see some really significant ice melt is the year we see some significant sea level rise.

There is a reason why Hansens predictions were 100% and amateurs who said, everything will stay the same were 100% right.
      Because it is not happening.

Same as ignoring month of supercold winter in the USA but chimping out over few hot days in Europe.

  2. rah says:

Griff bait! She just hasn’t seen it yet I guess.

  3. griff says:

yes, there has been a lot of precipitation over Greenland – you might ask why that blip in it over the last couple of years.

but don’t forget the SMB chart does NOT show melting from run off from glaciers.

Last year mass may have just about stayed level – but that is NOT the case this year, where melt is off the chart.

You can’t keep pretending that the trend is for loss, loss loss.

    Here’s a nice summary:

    and the NSIDC summary

And I notice you chickened out of showing this years SMB chart.

I noticed that you continue to rabidly lobby for the starvation to death of millions of innocent humans annually, mostly women and children.

Ms Griff, an attack from you is a badge of honor, it is proof positive that Tony is doing exactly the right thing.

    • rah says:

The blind cannot see. 2019 is shown relative to the mean.

    • MrGrimnasty says:

Griff, you are one deluded soul.

“Discovering this mix of insects means northwest Greenland’s average July during the last two interglacial periods most likely climbed above 50 degrees and possibly into the high 50s during the Last Interglacial. ”

Why don’t you go back to posting rubbish about Svalbard temperatures on WUWT.

You do realise the Guardian has to take cash from sympathisers so it can keep churning out fake news propaganda!

Griffool’s display of PERPETUAL IGNORANCE and CLIMATE CHANGE DENIAL continues unabated.

Really COLD in north western Russia, griffoool,

You know, where people actually live !!

Did you know that Greenland ice area is still in the top 5% of the last 8000+ years, little cretin.?

Arguing with Ms Griff is about as futile as talking to fence post.

  5. Andy says:

It’s a large melt season for Greenland so far this year compared to the past 2 years. However the past 2 years were completely the opposite.

As pointed out you cannot cry a massive melt season one year whilst ignoring the past two years like some are doing. That is cherry picking, and I hate cherry picking.

It’s the long term trend that matters.

“It’s a large melt season for Greenland so far this year compared to the past 2 years. However the past 2 years were completely the opposite.”

Yes it has, and at the same time Scandinavia and western Russia have recorded some new summer lows. It’s weather and I bounce between exasperation and mirth when the alarmists begin their dooms days cheers because it got a bit hot a few days somewhere.

I drive a 2015 Freight liner that has a battery powered environmental control system for use when the truck is parked and occupied. Last winter I kept getting sent up to Canada and was up in eastern Iowa when that Arctic blast came in and a bunch of new record daily lows were set. Lots of subzero temps and one night in Iowa it got down to -27 F at the truck stop I was parked at. That pretty much killed the batteries for parked environmental system and they have a new set on order.

“It’s the long term trend that matters.”

Greenland Ice area is only just a bit down from its LARGEST area in over 8000 years.

      • Phil. says:

The Greenland Ice Sheet has a current area of 1.7 million sq km (NSIDC).

        • spike55 says:

Ignorance and PHAILURE , yet again,

          poor PHAIL.

Briner counts the outlying northern islands that areas.

And because you PHAILED that one….

Here is a graph of the Total Greenland Ice Mass since 1900.

          • Phil. says:

Briner counts the outlying northern islands that areas.

No he doesn’t, he uses the model from Larsen et al. which also makes no reference to ‘counting the outlying northern islands’. In fact the title of that paper is “Restricted impact of Holocene climate variations on the southern Greenland Ice Sheet.”

    • Taphonomic says:

But DMI has had the 2011 melt season up on their chart continuously because of its large melt loss while taking down the last two years of gains.

  6. Tel says:

“Climate alarmists are like bad gamblers. The count only their winnings, and ignore their larger losings.”

And the reason for that would be they are gambling with other people’s money.

  7. griff says:

    Greenland melt.

(I’m not impressed with the cherry picked graphs and charts accompanying this, by the way)

    • spike55 says:

It Gruniad, Propaganda central.. That’s why you link to it., you are a GULLIBLE TWIT !!

FREEZING COLD 10 below normal in Scandiavia

      People LIVE there.

They don’t live on the Greenland Icecap or on the Arctic sea ice

All your childish bed-wetting about a bit of melting ice, but not a care for the plight of real people.

You are one SICK little piece of human trash, griffool.
