I see she has some nice round glasses. I wonder whether it’s the politician’s trick of trying to be taken seriously by acquiring some non-prescription clear spectacles in an effort to appear intelligent, when all other routes to that end have failed.
Quite how anybody stops themselves laughing aloud when questioned by AOC beats me.
I wonder if she stipulated castor oil based spectacle lenses? Those with a good salary will see clearly, the poor will be forbidden to read.
The John Lennon look.
“So, you won’t take down lies or you will take down lies?”
I would answer “Yes.” Then when anybody asks the question again you can say you already answered it.
You have a choice to use or not use what Zuckerberg created but you don’t have a choice to use or not use Big (Brother) government.
And when corporations and media are in bed with Big Brother, and they do Big Brother’s bidding, that is fascism. Nazis were fascists – as are almost all of today’s Leftists. The insanity of it all… they don’t even know it!
Most do Big Brother’s bidding out of fear. They know who you are and know where you live.
Never give too much power to a child.
Check out the 1961 episode of the Twilight Zone called “It’s a Good Life” starring Bill Mumy as a child who had the power to destroy the world. The remaining adults were in mortal fear of him. He was in charge and the adults knew it.
I must give AOC credit when she deserves it.
Until this hearing i thought there is no thing on earth that can make me sympatzesize with Zuckerberg, not even for a moment.
But those five minutes i did not want to punch his face.
Children should be seen but not heard.
Suppose a 14-year-old girl posts on Facebook that she’s going to a friend’s house, but instead goes to a party (so as to throw off her parents).
The girl has posted a lie. Is Facebook required to root that out and remove it from their site?
The whole notion of finding and removing lies from Facebook is incredibly, stupidly comical. I’m guessing there are mornings when Zuckerberg wishes he would have been a street musician instead.
I doubt there is a way of defining what constitutes a lie that would achieve anything like unanimous agreement. Is the onus on proving it true or false? What degree of certainty is required? It may be ‘true for me’ for the Post-Modernist or the religious nutjob but bull crap to the Objectivist.
Stating the obvious but I think in this context we do have certainty: a lie is anything AOC darn well says it is.
Imagine Facebook would start to remove all those lies that claim that islam is the religion of peace.
How would AOC react.
The whole notion of finding and removing lies from Facebook is incredibly, stupidly comical.
It is despotic and authoritarian.
Stupidly, as it would precede and precipitate the downfall and undoing of facebook.
“When did you stop beating your wife?” is also a simple question, and about as equally loaded with presuppositions.
Of course, he goal in asking is a question that way is to bully him into committing to take down any content she doesn’t like.
She is just a Big Brother puppet so we talk about any content Big Brother doesn’t like. Any critic on Big Brother’s truth.
I love it when identifiable individuals make such falsifiable predictions in black and white.
The 12 years will fly by very quickly and nothing much will have changed. But there will be yet another failed prediction of doom – that can be added to an already-long list.
I gather she has already claimed it was merely a metaphor and claims to be incredulous that anyone could have been so naive as to take it literally!
If so then that places everything else she ever says in a context she ought to find most uncomfortable.
