Thank you for all your hard work and persistence mr. H
If you look at the claims from 20 years ago I am already under water here in Bangkok… Several articles talk about pumping water out of Aquifers:

2011 flooding : This was caused by the outgoing government (The Yellows) a loose grouping of royalists, ultra-nationalists and the urban middle class also known as the People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) releasing stored water from reservoirs after being forced to relinquish power after losing 3 elections… the city centre was occupied for months by supporters of the Pheu Thai Party (red shirts). This flood was caused to discredit the reds. Nothing to do with climate or rising sea levels:

The Thailand landed on the list after the 2011 flood event, which cost the nation US$46 billion in repairs and rehabilitation. US$8 billion was spent on Bangkok alone. More than 800 deaths were recorded and 13 million people were affected by the flooding. I got lucky the water stopped 6 inches below my door in one house I own in Sai Mai… the other was flooded up to the first floor Nonthaburi as it is close to the river.
