Tony, There’s a front page article in the Chicago Tribune today claiming that algae blooms in Lake Erie are being caused by global warming. The story claims that “Since 1951, the Great Lakes region has seen a 2.3 degree rise in temperatures, a 14% uptick in annual precipitation and a 35% increase in the most intense storms.”

  2. Archie says:

Somehow the point about using model predictions vs real thermometer data needs to be driven home. I’d guess that over 99% of the hysteria is generated by this technique.

  3. Norilsk says:

It is good to show a graph with the high temperatures, but we need to see one with the average temperatures to have a better picture of what’s going on. As the highs are becoming less frequent, maybe the lows are pulling in as well.

Averages lose a lot of information after all the average person has one breast and one testicle. ~~~ Dixie Lee Ray

The average of 49 and 51 is 50 as is the average of 1 and 99.

Sorry to be off topic here, but I find it hard to search for specific articles of yours on You Tube.

Suspect this is a common problem and due to Google deliberately misdirecting people.

If I go to You Tube and type, Tony Heller; Basic science for climate scientists
Then one has to track past all sorts of unrelated posts before I reach yours with the exact wording.

The blog I post in does not allow links so I have to resort to the above to try to show people your posts.

I assume nobody has a work around here?

    • Aussie says:

Actually, I’ve worked it out. When you use Duck Duck Go you get Tonys post right at the top.

Why should I be surprised, Google trying to hide Tonys posts…
