In 1984, NASA’s James Hansen predicted 4C global warming and 5-8C warming in Antarctica, which was going to be the fastest warming place on earth.
CNN says Antarctica has been the coldest on record and the year is extremely hot.
Oh well, just because all the predictions are wrong doesn’t mean the theory is wrong. Just as Al G. and James H. and the luminaries on the IPCC! This isn’t science anyway, it is politics, so facts are irrelevant.
So the ” twice as fast as …” trick was already used in 1993.
And they didn’t lie : 2* 0 = 0.
So net feedback is 3 to 4 (watts per square meter presumably).
Water vapor is ~1.6 W/m2
Clouds provide ~1.3 W/m2 (these are magic, CO2 created clouds, as we know that prior to Hansen, clouds provided a net negative feedback and any metastable system must be dominated by negative feedbacks – that’s really settled science)
Snow melt provides ~1.1 W/m2.
1.6 + 1.3 + 1.1 = 4.0.
Which raises two questions.
1) Why did Hansen give a range of 3 to 4 if his model gives close to 4 W/m2 from these three factors.
2) That leaves a zero contribution from CO2.
What am I missing?
I follow the temperatures in Antarctica and even now as they approach midsummer down there it is averaging -41 C with wind chill making it feel like -51. Meanwhile Eureka in the Arctic circle is averaging -23. Phew. Bring on the cold beers to cool down
I believed them back then so I sold my coat. I’ll never fall for that again.
And yet our Boris Johnson continues his insane march to zero emissions which means the UK lifestyles are going to plummet – but not his of course.
I believe the UK is turning against this climate nonsense and this will become more acute when the UK gets power cuts and more people die of hyperthermia.
Sad that tragedy is the only thing that can get through to these numbskulls. But yes, It’s probably going to take having the grid go down at an inopportune time, like the dead of winter, with an associated loss of life to wake up the masses.
As all good school children have been taught to obey the experts, if the IPCC says it’s true then it must be true.
