I have a hybrid and in the warmer months I get about 44 miles to the gallon. Irrespective of what one thinks about climate issues, I believe this type of vehicle will continue to grow in popularity.
It seems rather disingenuous to include full hybrids in these totals. Their only energy source is gasoline.

It is disingenuous to include any EVs that get their electricity from natural gas or coal, which of course is most of them. Not to mention that an EV requires massively more energy from coal/oil/gas to create in the first place.
A realistic target if they ‘d have been able to rig the elections by more than 20 %.
EV sales would have drop by 30 % and they’d have ruined real car sales by 95 % as result of stiffling CO2 overregulations and hight prices.
Et voila – 50% parity.
