Michael Mann Predicts The Demise Of X

Michael Mann continues to be very offended by free speech.

(2) Prof Michael E. Mann on X: “One can both hope to see twitter go down & remain here until it does. There’s a game theory dynamic at play. As long as it remains viable, those who have built large followings are averse to leaving. But if EVERYONE leaves, critical mass can re-coalesce elsewhere (e.g. threads).” / X

Has Michael Mann had one prediction he got right?

    • arn says:

In this case he finally has a pretty good chance(in Mamms terms).

The UK government is after Twitter,
the Green Party boss of Germany is trying to shut it down,
      Australia tried it,
there is a coordinated Boycott from the Megacorporation in terms of addrevenue.
The Biden/ Harris puppministration went after him
and all his corporations lawfare style.
Musk himself said:” If Kamala wins I’m fucked”.

Since Trump won the election Twitter longterm survival chances went up from 20 to 50%.
And a 50% is the highest chance Mann has ever had to be right – though he is always on the side of those who rig the game.

And I wonder why he isn’t using Twitter to explain his storm prediction failure?

    • Richard E Fritz says:

he predicted he would be worth same as Greta by now – hes closing in on Al Gore

  2. Isn’t this just posturing. By citing ‘game theory’ to give the impression of erudition where none exists. I cannot see how a classical von Neuman zero sum game. He appears to be arguing exponential growth or decline. I seem to remember that was the model used by the Club of Rome in their ‘Limits to Growth’ fairy tale back in the 1970s.

  3. Peter Carroll says:

He needs help! Anyone know a good shrink, one that’s not worried that his career will go completely down the drain for treating MM?
His paranoia is about to “red line”. His final phase comes when he starts holding seances behind his outhouse, with changelings, disincarnates and Tinkerbell.

  4. czechlist says:

Reckon mikey is terrified his federal funding will be DOGE’d?

    • conrad ziefle says:

The department may still get funding, to unravel the BS he perpetuated, but he’ll have to watch from his patted cell.

  5. Trevor says:

So he argues that everyone should leave X. But he is still posting to X.
He doesn’t even believe his own theory.

    • arn says:

He neither believes in global warming and he also uses it as vehicle to achieve his goals.

He is quite consistent in a sick perverted way.

  6. Gamecock says:

    BWTM!

    https://www.breitbart.com/tech/2024/11/15/fccs-brendan-carr-big-tech-must-dismantle-censorship-cartel-including-orwellian-newsguard/

‘Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which gives big tech platforms legal immunity from hosting content and removing content they find objectionable, is only given when big tech operates in “good faith.”’

Moderating content makes them NOT a platform. The Democrats pushed the tech companies into censorship (may not have had to push very hard). The argument that it is not censorship because they aren’t government falls flat because government is integrated into their operations, as Musk found when he took over Twitter.

BFT! This obscene situation has gone on way too long.

    • arn says:

IMO tech companies paid Dems to push tech companies into censorship .

And as always, there is an interesting thing about the creation of the censorship complex.
It was a Harvard Prof named Cass Sunstein who had a major leading role in creating it after 9/11 and the Patriot Act as those conspiracy theories and critical voices (which turned out to be justified) were considered a threat to
      “national security”.
Considering that Stanford has also has actively helped the government in recent years to censor voices diverting from official Covid,Ukraine content with its Internet Observatory(there was obviously a successful operation mockingbird for universities)that’s no surprise.

But it is a surprise that Mr Sunstein was Obamas prof.
And they were so close that Obama made his wife Samantha Power ambassador to the UN.
And she is now leading USAID and pushed Ukraine into DiiA digital control scheme (and the endgame of DiiA will be CBDC and censorship/punishmentt by limiting access to DiiA money for wronthink )
