The left understands that there is no shortage of corrupt academics who will produce any result they need for their political goals. When the facts work against their political goals, they simply get some university professor to produce a fraudulent study.
A recent example was Diane Feinstein. The FBI says that violent crime and murders are down in the US since the “assault weapon” ban was lifted in 2004, but that didn’t suit her agenda – so she simply quoted some garbage academic studies which said otherwise.
Another recent example is the junk science about rapid Antarctic warming – which spread like wildfire through the communist news network.
And of course there is Mikey Mann’s hockey stick.
