Saving The Sahel
The United Nations wants to save the Sahel from global warming. Fifty years ago the National Academy of Sciences wanted to save the Sahel from global cooling.
“A number of climatologists. whose job it is to keep an eye on long-term weather changes, have lately been predicting deterioration of the benign climate to which we have grown accustomed. They point to signs both great (a steady global cooling trend since World War II) and quaint (the south-ward retreat from Nebraska of the warmth-loving armadillo) to support their claim that the coming years will feature colder, more erratic weather. Some recent warnings, from reputable researchers in Japan, Europe and the U.S., have so worried policy-makers that last January certain scientists at a meeting of the National Academy of Sciences proposed the evacuation of some six million people from their parched homelands in the Sahel region of Africa.”

Keeping The Denialists At Bay
In 2013, the IPCC couldn’t account for the lack of warming, and alarmists were worried that their climate scam was in jeopardy.
“Although climate models have been predicting increasing average global temperatures over the next century or so, the past decade has not shown as much warming as most scientists had expected. The year 2012 was no warmer than 2002. The IPCC draft report acknowledges a “global warming hiatus,” according to media reports.”

“”I think to not address it would be a problem because then you basically have the denialists saying, ‘Look, the IPCC is silent on this issue,’” said Alden Meyer of the Washington-based advocacy group Union of Concerned Scientists”

White House : Manhattan To Drown By The Year 2000
I took a photograph of the World Trade Center being built during July 1970, as we sailed into New York Harbor on the QE2.
“The process is a simple one. Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has the effect of a pane of glass in a greenhouse. The COz content is normally in a stable cycle, but recently man has begun to introduce instability through the burning of fossil fuels, At the turn of the century several persons raised the question whether this would change the temperature of the atmosphere. Over the years the hypothesis has been refined, and more evidence has come along to support it. It is now pretty clearly agreed that the CO2 content will rise 25% by 2000, This could increase the average temperature near the earth’s surface by 7 degrees Fahrenheit, This in turn could raise the level of the sea by 10 feet. Goodbye New York. Goodbye Washington, for that matter. We have no data on Seattle.”

Green Christmas In England
“GREEN CHRISTMAS IN ENGLAND
Unseasonably Warm Weather Prevailed Throughout England. :
New York, Dec. 26.—England has had one of the greenest Christmases on record, says the Tribune’s London correspondent, for the weather has been so mild that primroses and cornflowers are abloom as far north as Liverpool: and Yorkshire, while Devonshire revels in a sub-tropical climate and the Isle of Wight is a garden or roses in midwinter”

Similar story in 1935.
The winter heat wave continues in London with the temperature early this morning only four degrees below that of June. Roses are blooming in Wales, daffodils in the south of England, and spring flowers are plentiful in parts of Scotland, usually snow covered at this time of the year. Even on high hills there is not a speck of snow.
