I don’t know much about oil and gas. but I think I read we were supposed to run out of oil about a hundred years ago. I have a high school classmate that didn’t know much about oil either but he ended up being vice president of Exxon. Richard Kruger. I don’t know about those wells in southern NMex, oil reservoirs differ in characteristics, but it is not atypical for a well to go gangbusters for a several months and then begin to taper off to some much lower level, which might be sustained for years. So how many new producing wells you have is more influential on your production than how many total wells you have- again this varies with the formation, etc.
