What Really Drives The Climate?

In 2010, NASA said that CO2 controls earth’s temperature.

NASA – Carbon Dioxide Controls Earth’s Temperature

This is based on Antarctic ice cores which show CO2 and temperature moving in lockstep over the past 600,000 years.

But other temperature records show no correlation. The 1990 IPCC report showed that the warmest periods of the past ten thousand and one thousand years occurred when CO2 levels were much lower.

The Arctic may have been ice-free 6,600 years ago.

Trees grew all the way to the edge of Arctic Ocean 5,000 years ago.

Over a geologic timeframe, there is no correlation between CO2 and temperature. For example, there was an ice age during the Late Ordovician with CO2 levels ten times higher than now.

So what actually controls the climate?  The cold weather this year is due to oceanic circulation patterns. The Pacific Ocean gets cold during La Nina episodes, and warm during El Nino episodes.

But longer term the temperature seems to be largely controlled by the Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation, which has a cycle of about 70 years, and peaked in 1878.

If we overlay the AMO graph on the Reykjavik graph, there is almost a perfect match.

There is no evidence that CO2 controls the climate. The ice core graph is a misinterpretation. Warmer seawater can hold less less dissolved CO2 than cold water, and when the ocean warms it outgases CO2 – and vice-versa. Rising and falling CO2 in the ice core record is driven by variation in temperature rather than being the driver.

Hopelessly Brainwashed People

Over the past year, government has stripped Americans of their freedom, right to work, right to peaceably assemble, mobility, concerts, theater, museums, money and dignity – and Democrats are worried about completely imaginary issues. It shows the power of propaganda.

Vaccine Effectiveness

Johnson and Johnson say their vaccine is 66% effective at preventing moderate to severe symptoms.

This compares with 88% of people with no vaccine. So apparently the vaccine lowers your chances of not getting sick.

The Superbowl Surge

The New York Times and Dr. Fauci predicted a Superbowl COVID-19 surge. It didn’t happen.

“Experts worry that football fans gathering on Sunday in Tampa, Fla., for the championship game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or at watch parties across the country, could set back the nascent progress of recent weeks.

Officials like Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, Mr. Biden’s chief medical adviser for Covid-19, have warned Americans against gathering for Super Bowl parties with people from other households, especially in places without ideal ventilation.”

What Changed In Texas?

This graph shows all 1,792,641 daily maximum temperatures in Texas recorded in the USHCN database going back to the 19th century. Texas had similar cold in many years, including 2011, 1991, 1990, 1989, 1983, 1963 and 1961. But Texas used to rely on fossil fuels, rather than wind. I was living in Houston during the 1989, 1990 and 1991 cold snaps.

Rewriting Glacial History At USGS

The last time I looked at this USGS page, they made it clear that before the Little Ice Age, glaciers in Glacier National Park were very small or non-existent, and that they may not have survived the Holocene maximum either.

But the Medieval Warm Period and Holocene Maximum have since been erased by climate fraudsters, and the text has been changed to match.

USA Today Changes Their Story

Eleven days ago, USA Today was bragging about the success of Texas and Wyoming wind power, and said it was good news for Joe Biden’s “climate plan.”

Yesterday, USA Today said the failure of Texas wind was a “warning to Biden and all of us.”
