New Ice-Free Arctic Date

Based on current volume ice loss trends, I predict with 97% confidence the Arctic will be ice-free on July 29, 2021 at 11:42 AM.

Spreadsheet    Data

Ice loss this year was fourth lowest on record, with all of the lowest four years occurring since 2013.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone, because summers have been running cold in the Arctic in recent years.

The ice edge is not quite as extensive as it was in 1971, when the New York Times was worried about expanding ice and a new ice age.

Shortest Arctic Melt Season On Record?

As it stands right now, August 31 was the date of minimum sea ice extent in the MASIE record. This is the first year the minimum occurred during August.  The map below shows ice gain and loss since August 31.

Summers are ending earlier, and the Arctic is starting to freeze earlier.

The average last day above 80 degrees comes several days earlier in the US than it did a century ago.

All indications are that summer is getting shorter and cooler, which is why people like Mosher are desperate to tamper with the daily temperature data.

Unburying The Past

Roman soldiers would frequently bury their coins before they went off to war.  Many never returned  or couldn’t remember where their 0% interest bank was.  People with metal detectors find these stashes after 2,000 years of oxidation and sell them on E-Bay.

I bought a stash of these from Croatia, and am finding some gems down underneath all the dirt and rust.

One common design on the tail side, was very similar to that on the back of the 1959 British threepence.

Yet Another Climate Refugee

Thirty years ago this month I moved from Sedona to Houston.  Monster hurricane Gilbert was forming and headed towards Houston – after destroying my favorite town in Mexico. A few weeks earlier NASA’s James Hansen had predicted Lower Manhattan would be underwater by 2018.  The summer of 1988 was very hot, very dry, Yellowstone nearly burned up, the Mississippi River nearly dried up, and Gilbert was the most powerful hurricane on record. Obviously Hansen was correct – at least until Katharine Hayhoe erased the heat of 1988.

On my way out of Arizona, my trusty German Shepherd and I stopped at a convenience store and collected my $60 for picking four numbers in the lottery.  That night we slept under stars in West Texas which were so bright you could read a book by them. It was very cold that night, and there was frost by morning.

Gilbert missed Houston, and thirty years later I’m headed back to soon to be RINO-free Arizona – to work for a few months. It has already turned cold in Boulder, and I’m looking forward to the Arizona sun. High temperature yesterday in Boulder was 65 degrees, coldest September 5th since 1929.

Chalk me up as one more climate refugee fleeing to Arizona to escape the cold weather.

One Of The Least Hot Summers In The Midwest

Midwestern USHCN stations have recorded 17,772 June/July/August measurements over 100 degrees since 1895, including 2,624 in 1936 alone. This year there were only eight measurements over 100 degrees.

The frequency and intensity of hot summer afternoons in the Midwest has plummeted since the 19th century.

The New York Times claims the exact opposite, because their job is to push propaganda – not report news. This is the wildly fraudulent New York Times graph for Harrisburg, Illinois, purporting to show the number of 90 degrees days.

How Much Hotter Is Your Hometown Than When You Were Born? – The New York Times

And this is what the actual thermometer data looks like. The downwards trend is the exact opposite of the New York Times graph.

The Wins Just Keep Coming!

CNN is very angry about the defeat of ISIS, ambassadors not being murdered in spontaneous YouTube protests, peace with North Korea, the end of the Cold War, the booming economy, peace on the streets of America, no cities being burned, the lack of racial strife ….  They miss the good old days of Obama/Hillary … when every day was an actual crisis.

And now they are hysterical about an actual competent scientist working in government, and an “impeachable Trump tweet.

His public stance on climate change is in opposition to near universally accepted science.

More Nebraska

On July 17, 1936, there was a large spread in temperatures across Nebraska, from 118 degrees at Hartington to 100 degrees at Kimball.

Does this mean there was something wrong with the data?  Not at all – it was much hotter in eastern Nebraska than western Nebraska. The USHCN daily temperature data is very credible. Mosher and his junk science cohorts have no excuse for tampering with it.

More than a third of the US was over 100 degrees that day.

Daily temperature data is currently not being tampered with, and it exposes New York Times fraud and wrecks the global warming scam.  That is why people like Mosher are desperate to destroy it.

Today’s Global Warming Fraud At The New York Times

The New York Times is blaming Roger Federer’s September 3rd loss on global warming.

Roger Federer Is Tough to Beat. Global Warming Might Have Pulled an Upset. – The New York Times

It was the 10th warmest September 3 on record in New York, nine degrees cooler than  September 3, 1929.  Last year was 69 degrees.

September 3rd nighttime temperatures in New York peaked in 1898, and have been declining ever since.

Apparently no one at the New York Times actually reads the New York Times.

Close Enough For Government Work

The National Climate Assessment has this graph, which shows how much hotter the US used to be.

Temperature Changes in the United States – Climate Science Special Report

But somehow they lost the very hot summer of 1988, when James Hansen started the global warming scam, the Mississippi River nearly dried up, and Yellowstone burned.

This is the actual data.

The next graph overlays the actual data above, on the government graph below. 1988 is gone – you really can’t make up incompetence like this.

But then again ….
