Guns are deeply rooted within Swiss culture – but the gun crime rate is so low that statistics are not even kept.
The country has a population of six million, but there are estimated to be at least two million publicly-owned firearms, including about 600,000 automatic rifles and 500,000 pistols.
One household out of three in Switzerland owns an “assault rifle” and they have almost no gun crime.
Feinstein concludes that she can stop inner city shootings with illegal pistols in gun-free zones, by taking away legal rifles from law abiding citizens.
If one third of honest hard-working households in the inner cities owned legal assault rifles, the gangs would disappear. A gang is no match for an AK-74 with a thirty round magazine. They level the playing field.
That is one reason why Switzerland is so safe. Liberals are too stupid and hateful to think rationally. Feinstein wants to make sure that families in inner cities are victims living in constant fear and danger.

The leftist wackjobs dream of disarming America , but the reality is that they will be the cause of strife and violence if and when they attempt to do so . That may be so but – don’t think you will hear about it. Obama has the power to pull the plug on the internet, and would probably shut down mobile phones etc too if this happened.
All that will occur is a lot of individual fire-fights without any help coming from anywhere, and without any knowledge of other people doing the same. Each cell of resistance will be stamped out ruthlessly.
Perhaps it would be wise for citizens to set up an alternate means of communication.
Why do people in a relatively safe country feel a need to arm themselves to that extent? I guess the question answers itself, it is relatively safe because people are so heavily armed.
In more rural parts of Colorado, almost everybody is armed and no one would be stupid enough to pull a gun out.
History. France on one side (quite happy to invade you to “restore natural borders” under their kings and Napoleon), Germany on top (always happy to add a few square miles until 1945), Austria to the east (and dangerous until 1918) and Italy to the south (mostly famous in Switzerland for petty thievery until the middle of the last century). So the Swiss decided that it would be a good idea to be a hedgehog to the big dogs around them and make them look for easier prey.
The inner cities are up to the armpits in BARBARIANS. They do not represent the United States of America.
And the Swiss constitution is superior, too.

I did not read the article, do they even mention that pretty much every household has a state-issued “assault weapon” in the closet, in addition to the privately owned firearms?
And Steve, rural California is about like rural Colorado. Nearly every household is armed, and at least in our county we have a very high CCW rate.
I expect his argument would be that guns are dangerous in only certain social and cultural contexts and the US has that problem whereas the Swiss do not.
That should be “AK-47”, actually 🙂
No, an AK-74 is a better rifle and uses superior 5.45 ammo.
