I’m with you Dave. The new meme created by NGOs ever since global warming was found to be more regional than global and hitting the Arctic the hardest, is that the Arctic is melting and is exacerbating extreme weather, drowning the Maldives, etc., and that we need to spend $1 trillion/year to implement a fix. Politically it is better to be proactive in supporting the idea that if $8 billion/yr. does the trick in stopping ice melt in order to save the Maldives than spending $1 trillion/year and thus keep the irrational, politically driven NGOs at bay.
Drew Shindell also has a plan which would be cheap and Jason Box now has evidence that a 6% drop in Arctic albedo is the culprit for causing Greenland ice melt which supports Shindell’s view, so there is enough scientific support to get scientists on board. Poitically $8 billion is worth shutting the alarmists up and stripping Hansen of his red marker in the Arctic. Take away Arctic warming in the GISS data and there is no warming. This would also move the discussion away from scientific consensus on warming to non-consensus on scientific solutions which would politically undermine the NGO politically based expensive non-solutions that are only about global wealth distribution under the guise of climate justice.
Earth history didn’t start in 1979 but they believe we have to go back to something like that.

If you went out to dinner with a climatologist you’d starve to death because they’d never make their mind up. Too cold! Too hot! How about we don’t believe a word they say, because anything they want requires billions and now trillions of taxpayer money?

Mignonotologists: They would eat massive amounts of filet mignon, while performing massive cattle drives to the slaughterhouse. All the while, we would be warned of the dangers of eating too much filet mignon. Mignon indulgences would be purchased from PETA vegetarians to alleviate guilt.

Arctic sea ice has continued to rapidly increase and is virtually normal for this time of year. Why don’t we hear about that now from the media? We sure heard a lot when the Arctic blizzard broke up the ice in August.

Cloud cover in the Arctic is already 85-90% during summer and autumn. Would they really add much to it? It strikes me that most of the Arctic heat comes from lower latitudes through convection.

The Daily Mail published an article on 8th Sept 2013 with pictures showing and stating that the Arctic ice cap has grown by 60% !!!! So it shows that the reflective particles that HAVE BEEN AND ARE BEING SPRAYED INTO THE ATMOSPHERE HAS WORKED.(Albeit to the detriment of all life on Earth)
