The normal high for our area in the thumb of Michigan is 79. It is now 66 at 12:43 pm. Unless a heat wave suddenly passes through, it probably won’t break 70.
All in all, 2013 has been one of the best summers we’ve had; both green and warm at the same time. In fact, the grass has so much moisture it’s clumping up in the tractor mower deck, a rare occurrence in July.
Certainly they can’t be saying Michigan is having a drought!

The high arctic July blizzard will hardly be mentioned next week. The stenographers know of this impending storm; they’re already crafting their narratives in anticipatory zeal, waiting, hoping, for this storm to shatter the arctic ice cover. Once again, proven correct. All the media seem to be concerned with the last 3 days has been heat in Europe, comparisons to 2003 and not a peep of the arctic seaice because it’s pretty much exactly where it was two weeks ago.
