Climate Science – The Fact and Data Free Science

Scientists have determined that the heat of the 1930’s was caused by CO2 from burning fossil fuels.

Scientists Trace Climate-Heat Link Back to 1930s | Climate Central

Had these “scientists” actually looked at any data, they would have known that the heat of the 1930’s peaked at 310 PPM CO2, and the heat has declined as CO2 increased. There is no correlation between CO2 and heatwaves.

Climate science is a fact-free science run by scientific and mathematical illiterates.

They’re trying to re-write climate history again, this time by ‘detecting’ a human CO2 fingerprint all the way back to the early 20th century even though that’s impossible, because emissions were so low. Instead they use models to ‘prove’ their claim. This is an attempt to show sensitivity is ‘higher than previously thought’. In other words their own models deliver their pre-determined and pre-desired outcomes. Never mind that actual observations show there’s fewer and weaker heatwaves now than when Co2 was lower. Fake (and completely shameless) news yet again.

    • arn says:

Wait a few years and these fantastic guys will find all of a sudden a co2 fingerprint
in the 19 th century.(though they never had the equipment to do so
and the only real fingerprints are results from volcanos)

They will come with any crap to create an alternative matrix,so strong that humans shall forever feel a sense of guilt and selfhate
      while in fact they
      created just a new formula
Science minus data minus facts= Climate Science.

A criminal enterprise of fraud, lies, wrong predictions,a horrible track record, name calling and intimidation called science.

Yep, they were forced to admit they have an elephant in the living room and they don’t really know why it’s been sitting on the sofa since the 1930s.

“The team of scientists used earth models to simulate likely temperatures for each year since 1901.

      Climate Central

And because they have no explanation they did what they already do. They ran computer models and wrote this drivel of an abstract:

Emergence of heat extremes attributable to anthropogenic influences

Climate scientists have demonstrated that a substantial fraction of the probability of numerous recent extreme events may be attributed to human-induced climate change. However, it is likely that for temperature extremes occurring over previous decades a fraction of their probability was attributable to anthropogenic influences. We identify the first record-breaking warm summers and years for which a discernible contribution can be attributed to human influence. We find a significant human contribution to the probability of record-breaking global temperature events as early as the 1930s. Since then, all the last 16 record-breaking hot years globally had an anthropogenic contribution to their probability of occurrence. Aerosol-induced cooling delays the timing of a significant human contribution to record-breaking events in some regions. Without human-induced climate change recent hot summers and years would be very unlikely to have occurred.

It is likely that a significant fraction of the extreme hilariousness of the above scientificating pronouncements is attributable to Tony’s merciless pounding.

  2. Nicholas Schroeder, BSME, PE says:

Spreading the average solar irradiance power flux of 1,368 W/m^2 over the entire ToA to get 342 W/m^2 ISR as in the K-T et. al. diagrams is just totally bogus.

Spreading it over the lit hemi-sphere to get 684 W/m^2 average is equally useless.

Attached is a proper model of the solar irradiance impinging on horizontal 10° bands/surfaces over the lit hemi-sphere.

    Spreadsheet on request.

    Spherical cap = 2 π r h r = 6,371 km
    h = sine ϴ 6,371
    incident to horizontal surface = cosine ϴ * 1,368

Interesting. (did you reverse the labels, though? Should the south pole be 119.2 and so on?)

    • Ed Bo says:

You’re confusing the simplified conceptual illustrations of figures like the KT diagram with the actual calculations done in the climate models. If you bother to delve into the equations and the code used in the models, you will see that they do the trig that you seem to think you discovered.

Typically they break the earth into 5x5degree pieces and update every 15 minutes, computing the intensity of insolation using trigonometry for every individual cell each time update.

The climate models have many, many problems, but you have not identified any of the real problems. All you are doing here is giving alarmists ammunition to dismiss skeptics as know-nothings.

They obviously churn out fake new on the fly with no basis in fact.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

Churning out fake news out “on the fly” acquires a secondary meaning when you look at the Grauniad article below …

    • gator69 says:

The estimated price tag for a flight on Operation IceBridge is about $100,000; a single hour of flight time is said to cost $10-15,000.

Why is it that alarmists hate poor brown people?

  4. gator69 says:

It won’t be long before grantologists claim that WWII was caused by CAGW.

    • RAH says:

If I remember correctly there is some lost soul that has posted here and elsewhere in the past that claims AGW resulted from all the Naval activity during WW II in the Pacific.

      • gator69 says:

I remember him well. If he had suggested and modeled the opposite, he could have been a well published grantologist and climate expert by now.

        • Colorado Wellington says:

I remember him, too. It’s not common to find a detractor of the theorists of CO2-induced catastrophic warming who is just as deranged as they are.

You say this as though it were a bad thing ;)

  6. Brian D says:

Month of July record heat across the country. Today’s heat doesn’t quite match what was happening 80-100+ years ago.

  7. Brian D says:

July record high minimum temps. Today’s hot morning temps unremarkable compared to are past.

  8. Brian D says:

Same thing with record high average temps.
