Falling Credibility Of Scientists Predicted In Global Warming Junk Science

Twenty-five years ago, climate experts predicted the demise of the Great Lakes.

There has been no change in Great Lakes water levels over the past century.

The evidence is overwhelming that climate science is superstition – not science.

  1. John of Cloverdale, WA, Australia says:

    Another gem, Tony.

  2. Mohatdebos says:

If global warming was predicted to lead to declining water levels in the Great Lakes, then the increase in lake levels in recent years must be the result of global cooling.

  3. Mohatdebos says:

Water levels in the great lakes are well above their historical averages currently. If global warming was forecasted to result in lower lake levels, we must be cooling.

    • Kris Johanson says:

Thank goodness, then, we built all these wind farms and bought electric/hybrid cars, cuzz evidently we saved the great lakes!

  4. arn says:

The 3 steps of AGW madness

    1) you have a planet ,70% covered with water

2)increased global temperatures = more vapor= more rain,
less ice+increase in overall ocean temperatures=increase
in worlds all over water surface&volume=even more water will vaporize
    and rain down

3)the result of this according to superhuman supersmart climate scientist ubermensch:
    Sinking lake levels.

In the meantime in the real world:
    25 years gone=nothing happened.
    Lake levels = the same
    Shitty predictions= the same
    Fearporn=the same
    Rhetorics=the same

And i’d really like to know((from a real scientist))
how much warmer it has to get that evaporation can rise by an amazing 44%.
I guess even the worst worst case AGW scenario would not lead to such a huge increase in evaporation.

    • Kris Johanson says:

The amount of private money (let alone Gubment money) chasing CAGW is too tempting to ignore. Truth-telling and logic and intellectual honesty don’t apply in the world of venture capital and potential deals for turbines and PV systems and carbon sequestration systems and consulting fees and legal fees, etc

      • Gator says:

New estimates published by the Climate Change Business Journal put the total size of the industry at $1.5 trillion a year, or $4 billion a day, equivalent to the size of the global online retail market. The figure includes carbon markets, carbon consulting, biofuels, carbon sequestration, renewable technologies, eco buildings and hybrid cars.

The climate change consultancy market alone is worth $1.9 billion worldwide; $670 million in the United States, thanks to businesses need to keep on top of climate policy. And these figures are expected to more than double by 2020.

That was over two years ago, and we can only hope that Trump is turning that trend around.

        • Kris Johanson says:

$1.5 trillion USD a year. That’s the GDP of a good sized country.

        • arn says:

Saving the world seems to be an extremly profitable full time job.
Maybe that’s the reason why banking dynasties like Rockefeller and Rothschild are the main driving force
and why Al Gore got superrich
and climate science is full of “me-morally-so-superior,me-don’t-work” -people instead of people of integrity.

And this scheme would instantly collapse when telling the truth. And all are aware of it and try to keep it alive.

    • AZ1971 says:

Thank you, arn. I shall use that term from now on to describe the lack of dispassionate, biased, alarmist “news” the media relies on these days to make themselves relevant.

    • T.Heiss says:

      kudos for sanity.

  5. AZ1971 says:

I remember a few years ago the MSM was in hysterics because the Great Lakes water level had been dropping and they were hyping predictions of disaster, drying up tributaries and threatening water supplies to cities nearby, etc.

Then the 2014 great freeze-over of Lake Superior occurred, resulting in far less evaporation the following spring and summer, maintaining cold water temperatures which [may or may not have] contributed to regional increased spring/summer rainfall events, and suddenly the MSM was whinging about how the waterfront along Chicago’s Lake Shore Drive was being inundated and “threatened” by the potential of storm-driven waves (which were assured by climate “scientists” that their frequency and strength would ever increase.)

Honestly, the MSM and their climate alarmist kin are doing little more than pumping fearporn (as arn said above) onto a gullible, social media attention span public. Nothing to see? Who cares! Invent some kind of hysteria . . . there are bills to pay.

    • Andy DC says:

With this current weather pattern, the Lakes will be frozen over very quickly, way earlier than normal. Of course, when that happens, the alarmists will say it is due to warm induced cold, as opposed to the cold induced cold that took place when the Lakes froze over in the 1930’s. Only climate experts can makes such sophisticated determinations!

  6. scott allen says:

The computer models also predicted a 3 to 7 degree rise is the surface temperature.
    Which didn’t happen either.

    • arn says:

The real funny thing is that they always predict such big increases(though man made co2 is an insignificant 0.01% of our atmosphere)
and always fail big times(because co2 is an insignificant 0.01% of our atmosphere and a very weak climate gas anyway)

The problem is not that they just fail, but in a big unscientific way.
Instead of being more realistic(eg. 0.3-0.7 degrees increase they pull 12* numbers out of their butts)
I guess they need such huge numbers to impress us
,to indoctrinate us,to create the scale of fear they think we need to be bombed with to comply to any BS they say.

And that’s the worst part of it-it’s not AGW but the completely exaggerated number and that everythink is blown out of proportion-
and that’s what will kill the AGW scam in the end.
People will stop listening to this shit when they start to freeze and ruj out of money
and then we will realise that the number of AGW believers is in fact sub 10% -and these people are sold to us as majority by MSM.

  7. Steve Case says:

Yep, Lake Michigan level is up. A few years ago it was down. I doubt that CO2 has anything to do with it.

  8. Ulric Lyons says:

Erie and Huron look slightly higher during the last cold AMO phase.

  9. Freddy Boom-Boom says:

In fairness, I was brought up in the great lakes region. Nice people in them there parts…but…eh…girthy folk. Put enough of them into any one of those lakes and you’ll see the water levels rise a bit. Just sayin’.

  10. Psalmon says:

“Lake Superior’s rapid warming is like a canary in the coal mine…” from 2012 Nat Geo.

Any public money spent on these conclusions should be paid back.
