Climate Experts Say Skiing Is Doomed
This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Bookmark the permalink.
SO MUCH SNOW AFTER 2C of global warming! Global average today exceeds by 2+C norm for 1810-1870 period. See: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/01/08/been-there-exceeded-that/
How much of the 2+C warming is due to data tampering, Tony? Perhaps Mann et. al should keep in mind the law of unintended consequences.
Switching from data to models: Princeton explains another serious flaw in climate models. Models grossly underestimate clouds’ cooling effect by mistimimg cloud cover. The underestimate causes about 50% of the calculated warming. See: https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/01/10/study-climate-models-underestimate-cooling-effect-of-daily-cloud-cycle/
It is doomed there will be so much snow that the avalanche danger will keep people away.
Except the few years of the dustbowl and the very cold period
of the end70ies
every single year of the past century could have been used to
promote global warming and global cooling
by simply ignoring the extremes that don’t contradict the narrative and focus and expose those that fit the agenda.

The global surface temperature record is meaningless garbage, and has no validity
“2+C warming ”
You mean the warming out of the COLDEST period in 10,000 years ?
Be very thankful for the small amount of warming we have had, and hope like hell that we don’t start losing it.
That bottom pic reminds me of skiing down the mountain in Vipiteno, Italy. Attending the Italian SF Incursoris annual ski training. Night ski. Went up the mountain but the avalanche danger was too high off piste or on so we (about 30 of us) skied in trail down a road with a 15-20′ high snow wall on the up slope side and a 4-6′ snow wall on the down slope side. Very weird and difficult to stay oriented in the night trying to keep the front guy in sight but not run over him. Worst was when we got down into the tree line because the shadows made it almost pitch black. It was 15 minutes or more skiing going all the way down that mountain on a winding road with many hair pins with no stops until we got to the bottom because to stop would mean being run over. So everyones thighs were burning by the end but of course nobody would admit it. Thought it would never end . Glad nobody fell because it would almost certainly ended up in a pile up like “the big one” at Talladega in NASCAR racing.
I have friends who live in France to run a hotel and a couple of years ago were bemoaning the lack of snow due to ‘climate change’.
This week they’re posting pics’ on FB of snow 15 feet deep, dwarfing a skier. I gently reminded them of what a lot of global warming they have there. :-)

So, once again, reality proves that putting garbage into models (bad data, parameters…) causes models to spew out garbage (wrong forecasts such as no more snow).
Andy, your snarky comment is vulnerable multiple ways. Let me point just a few. The 1500-1700 period was substantially colder than the 1810-1860 span, according to many data series. Perhaps, you reference Mann’s dubious temperature estimates. And, your starting point–10,000 yrs ago–is exceptionally warm. For example, temperature estimates for 10,000 yrs ago exceed by 3.5-4C estimates for 12,000 yrs ago. The temperature 10,000 yrs ago also exceeds official, cooked estimates for recent years. Tony has clearly explained how Mann et. al have manipulated recent and historical temperature estimates.
