We Aren’t Scientists, But We Play Them In City Council Meetings

Leftists are lovely people, and they care deeply about the planet.

  1. Gator says:

Just start a rumor that there will be an oil pipeline crossing the wetlands. Of course you may end up with 70 tons of garbage and abandoned dogs that are starving to death, but hey, progress!

  2. R Shearer says:

The City of Boulder represents the libs well. It’s all virtue signaling. Go to the CU campus during the busiest time of day and buildings and rooms are half empty. At any other time they are 3/4 empty and at some time 99% empty. They are still being lighted or heated though and more older buildings are being demolished so that newer and bigger ones can be constructed.

Ski areas, which I love, have jumped on the AGW bandwagon. They pledge to use renewable energy. Then why are all of them putting in high speed lifts and gondolas?

If they followed the Governor Elect’s lead, they would require more efficient lifts that use less power. They’d get rid of their parking lots and replace them with bike racks and the traffic problem to the ski areas and back could be fixed by required biking to them.

In a state where a huge fraction of vehicles are SUV’s or PU’s, rules favored by the Governor Elect will aim to outlaw them. It’s alright because he’ll travel in a caravan of stretch Escalade limos or similar with a bevy of armed guards and State Trooper escorts (by the way he doesn’t want you to have guns). Sorry, but the libs are F’ing all of us.

“Then why are all of them putting in high speed lifts and gondolas?”

I just this moment came up with a very eco-friendly lift and gondola design. Admittedly, it is slow going uphill (pedal powered) but the downhill trip is VERY high speed!

      • Colorado Wellington says:

Jason, I just this moment came up with a technological improvement of your concept. Have a rope loop up the hillside with pulleys at both ends. Two skiers get strapped to the rope at the top, a single skier at the bottom and off it goes. No energy needed. Up and down forever.

Also, the pulleys can be made from recycled wood and the rope from hemp. Totally green.

Boulder City Council should pass an ordinance to make it happen.

  3. GeologyJim says:

We have all suffered under one-party rule in the People’s Republic of Boulder for decades. City government and county government are all run by doctrinaire Liberals who talk alike, think alike, and act as one to force residents to live the way government wants them to live.

Many elective offices didn’t even have a Republican candidate

And now the Colorado Governor, Secy of State, Attorney General, and Treasurer are all like-minded Dems and the Senate and Assembly both have Dem majorities

Things are looking bad for Republicans and Libertarians, and anyone who is rightly (pun intended) concerned about Big Government.

Prohibitive restrictions on oil and gas development lost at the polls, but one can easily anticipate the Big Blue Government Machine is going to “fix” that in the next session, along with gun ownership, green-greed energy, and other sustainability cr*p.

This transformation all started about 15 years ago with the Colorado Democracy Alliance run by four mega-donors – Jared Polis, Tim Gill, Rutt Bridges, and Pat Stryker. Polis is the first to be elected to any office, but make no mistake who runs Colorado government these days

  4. annieoakley says:

Colorado Democracy Alliance has to have billions of dollars however any group with “Democracy” in the title has a relationship with George Soros.

    • Jason Calley says:

A political group which uses “Democracy” in its title is like a field of study which includes “science” in its name.

If it’s really science, they don’t need to say so.

  5. GW Smith says:

Sad to hear. Progressivism has spread like a virus throughout our country, and Europe, and Australia. Politics and education are now dominated by them and their agenda. Conservatism doesn’t seem to have the energy to resist them. I think the world is heading for some tough times. I’ll be gone, but I’m sad for my kids.

  6. Robertv says:

Isn’t it strange that those who believe CO2 controls Earth’s temperature want less of it. They sure hate canadians.

  7. Ed Bo says:

Of course, the XKCD cartoon they cite is based on the scientific fraud of the Marcott paper, which used proxies with sampling intervals of hundreds of years to show slow changes in the past, and high-resolution temperature measurements to show fast changes in present tims.

    • Jason Calley says:

Hey Ed, yes, exactly. The XKCD artist is a very bright guy, but being bright is no protection when there is misplaced faith in the integrity of research done by other scientists.

  8. Andy says:

    That guy is a tosser.

    Ignore him

  9. toorightmate says:

    There, the scientist is settled.
And probably by the Chief Scientist – Jay.

  10. Jimmy Haigh says:

I personally don’t know how global warmongers can live with the fact that they breathe out 40,000 ppm CO2 with every breath. Don’t they know they are killing the planet?
