120 Years Of EV Propaganda

“The storage battery is, in my opinion, a catchpenny, a sensation, a mechanism for swindling the public by stock companies. The storage battery is one of those peculiar things which appeals to the imagination, and no more perfect thing could be desired by stock swindlers than that very selfsame thing. … Just as soon as a man gets working on the secondary battery it brings out his latent capacity for lying.”

and they forget to tell us- Severe Cold and Heat can cause battery life damage

    EV’s for very rich

  2. Solar Mutant Ninjaneer says:

Another example of “nothing new under the sun.”

    Off topic Tony,
but you may take a look at the sharp drop in Covid cases in Japan that started a few weeks after they “legalised” ivermectin as preventiv treatment.
Where i live there i s no news about that.
Maybe the same in the USA.

    • Michael Peinsipp says:

Look at Africa…COVID numbers are practically non existent.
Why?…Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine are used by majority of Africans for local diseases.
AND both of these drugs are CHEAP and have been used by MILLIONS for decades thus safe.

      • Timo, Not That One says:

Look for that to change. I was force fed an article on Yahoo that explained how it may be that having malaria protects you from covid! They also said that Africa is ripe for a big outbreak of covid so they need to get the mRNA jab as soon as possible. Then, I predict, they will have a massive covid outbreak.
It boggles the mind to think how stupid people are to believe this scam.

        • arn says:

They will only have a massive outbreak in Africa if the labs have finished a new ivermectin resistant covid variant.

Africa is low in all categories that suffer from covid.
          Low ratio of old people,
low ratio of obesity and diabetes
+ they have tons of sun to built up vitamin.

Considering how blacks are being “helped” in the democrats inner cities
I expect a very agressive variant to appear in africa and thatll be specifically harmful to people with ,let’s say Malaria or Malnutrition.

  4. Ron says:

Everything has its place. I kind of like EV if a person can charge it and live with its limitations. I prefer letting people buy an EV if they want, without destroying the fossil fuel market and damaging the economy. My truck with its large v8 engine is perfect for towing trailers, an EV truck?

  5. Bill says:

Edison has some interesting criticisms of the idea of storing energy in a battery in your house produced during the daytime, and then using it after the sun went down. This idea is a big deal in the renewables space now. It’s about a page further down in The Electrical Journal article referenced above.

“I will tell you where the fallacy lies… the cost of storing this extra electricity… will be twice as much as the station that produced it…”

There’s the high cost of the battery, the fact that the charge/discharge cycles cause it to lose its capacity, there’s the energy lost in the ch/dc cycle as well as energy loss from the battery over time. And the loss increases over time as the battery ages.

  6. R Taylor says:

The Petrol Dollar is backed by men with guns as they say. The recent foray into lithium mines is done by the same powers that be.

Green = New Taxes by guilt shaming the sheeple of destroying the planet, while they themselves destroy the planet, and lives.

  7. Bruce of Newcastle says:

Most ordinary people wouldn’t know what energy density is. Most pollies also, even the ones who get lots of kickbacks from wannabe EV makers.

I scratch your back, you “donate” to my re-election campaign.

  8. Mark Luhman says:

I suspect that somewhere in the not to distance future the EV owner are going to be shock in the thousands of dollars it going to cost them to unload their EVs.

  9. jchr12 says:

Hundreds of acres of land outside Paris covered in early small EV’s that nobody wants because their batteries have failed & are too costly to replace, and can’t be recycled.

The absurdity of EV’s hides the real truth of population control.

    • Rory Forbes says:

Fact checkers say that is false. The reason for the abandoned cars has to do with contractual matters, not flat batteries. But hey … most fact checkers do nothing of the sort. They merely obfuscate the facts.
