The worldwide drought and record heat of 1876-1878 killed fifty million people.

It has been clear since the 1980s that the 1877-78 El Niño was intense. “Now we have a lot more data,” says Singh. “This event was the strongest El Niño that has occurred since the 1850s.” Sea surface temperatures remained high for 16 months. That makes it bigger than the huge El Niños of 1997-98 and 2015-16. A nexus of impacts But that’s not all. In 1877 a second climate cycle, the Indian Ocean Dipole, was active – meaning the western Indian Ocean was warmer than the east. This typically weakens India’s monsoons. “It was the strongest Indian Ocean Dipole on record,” says Singh. The Atlantic Ocean was also unusually warm from 1877 to 1879. “Following the El Niño, it peaked to the most extreme temperatures on record,” says Singh.

New South Wales’ all-time record temperature of 127F occurred on January 17, 1877.
There was no winter in Minnesota that year.

CRUTEM5 shows 1878 below average temperature.
Met Office Hadley Centre observations datasets
But they only had coverage of a small percentage of the planet. They showed southeast Australia as being average,
Maximum temperatures at Bourke, NSW average 41.5C, which is 5C above average.
Average temperatures were 3.5C above average.
For the entire year, CRUTEM5 showed the region below average
For the entire year Bourke was about 2C above average
Excellent analysis!
The Cabal and their presstitutes have been riding the upside half of the Atlantic cycle since the 1980s, scapegoating man-made global warming in its place. It is a perfect W now, nearing the end of the warm run – just minutes before its ~40-year downhill slide begins.
This also explains why not a single out of 200 countries is investing the necessary massive volumes of money to counter the extreme loss in food production(at least 20 % ) caused by global warming to save their people – instead they are attacking food production and farmers.
They either don’t believe in AGW or they want to kill their population vis famines.
If only people knew how perfect climate was 150 years ago
and how well > 350 ppm co2 worked as control knob.
hi, After reading about Minneapolis in 1878, I checked the Lake Minnetonka Ice out Dates, records go back to 1855. again (I had sent you a note in 2018, as that year was tied for latest Ice out).
March 11th 1878 is the Earliest Ice Out Recorded in the 168 years of Records.
here is the data.

Maybe the CRUTEMs program goes like this:
1. input the data
2. alter the data to conform to these equations-
x<1900, y=-.5
1900< x < 1940, y= -.5+ (.5/40) (x-1900)
1940< x <1980, y=0
etc.
3. Output the new data
