USHCN : 1988 Was The Only Year When Americans Knew How To Read Thermometers

According to Tom Karl, Americans are very stupid people who have severe trouble taking temperature readings – except during the year 1988.  Americans are currently in an exponentially increasing stupid state, where temperatures need to be adjusted upwards by more and more every year.

In other words, USHCN is desperately trying to hide the decline.

Wow, no surprise here, these people are frauds.

Maybe they are going for a Nike endorsement. Big bucks!

  3. Andy DC says:

They are adjusting the 1930’s down by almost 2 degrees relative to now. There were a huge number of weather stations in the 1930’s, all presumably with calibrated thermometers in good shelters. Back in the day when a man’s integrity meant something. What could be the possible justification for such a change, other than an agenda?

  4. Andy DC says:

Not a justification, just the reason why.

  5. Don Sutherland says:

There is no “decline” being hidden. Time of observation (TOBS) bias, UHI, among other issues need to be addressed. Hence, one cannot use the raw data. Not using the raw data has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence or stupidity.

    • Andy DC says:

If raw data is not being used, the data is being manipulated. Manipulated by alarmists who have their careers hitched to the AGW agenda. Isn’t there going to be an obvious warm bias? If Democrats ,whose careers are at stake, are able to manipulate the vote, are they going to manipulate the vote in favor of Republicans?

    • No they don’t. Scientists normally assume a Monte Carlo distribution of error for huge messy datasets. The possibility of making these “corrections” with out introducing their own confirmation bias is zero.

It makes no sense to even attempt to “correct” for TOBS with so many variables unknown. Prove to me that observer 12,234 in 1918 wasn’t resetting his thermometer before he went to bed.

TO BS or not TO BS…
