Imitation is The Sincerest Form Of UHI
The Capital Weather Gang at the Washington Post has started generating graphs like mine. Note the one below which shows a sharp rise in the number of 100 degree days in Washington DC since 1988.
But if we go 50 miles west of DC to more rural regions, we see the exact opposite. The number of 100 degrees has dropped off to almost zero since 1988.
Similarly, they show an increase in hottest temperatures since the 1970s.
The rural station does not show this. It shows a steady decline in peak temperatures since the 1930’s.
Downtown DC is much hotter than surrounding areas. The only useful climate information we can deduce from is that urban stations need to be ignored.

Navigating The Arctic Responsibly
Apparently multi-day drinking binges followed by getting stuck in the ice is “navigating responsibly.”
A few weeks ago they were worried about saving the ice and the Polar Bears. Now they are worried about saving themselves from the ice and the Polar Bears.
Whoever undertakes to set himself up as a judge of Truth and Knowledge is shipwrecked by the laughter of the gods.

Arctic Alarmists Screaming
The Arctic is screaming
- Mark Serreze 2007
Experts predicted the Arctic will be ice-free again this year. Instead we are looking at the likelihood of one of the highest summer minimums of the decade.

The Bremen graph above agrees pretty closely with my measurements from OSISAF maps.
The White House wants to prosecute anyone who believes the Arctic isn’t ice-free.

Green Party Promoting Genocide
The Green Party wants to “end fossil fuels.”
This would mean empty grocery stores within hours. No food, transportation, heat, light or communications. Civilization would collapse within days, and billions would be dead within months. Every tree would be cut down, and the air would be thick with smoke from people burning things to keep warm. And from there, it would only get worse.
Jill Stein wants to sue Exxon for supplying a product which Jill Stein, and almost everybody else on the planet, depend on for their day to day survival.
Before she kills 99.99% of the people on the planet, Jill wants to sue Exxon for saying the same thing in the 1970’s and 1980’s that NOAA was saying.
“global climate … cooled from 1921 to 1979”
- Tom Karl NOAA 1989
“there is still considerable uncertainty among scientific experts”

Climate Scientists Have Moved Beyond Data
For climate scientists, no acceleration means dangerous acceleration.
And where exactly is Bolder, Colorado?
Tide gauges show no acceleration. In fact sea level has fallen over the past six years along the East coast.

Bernie Sells Out, Buys $600,000 Home A Week Later
Bernie Sanders has never held a real job in his life, and didn’t hold any job until he was 40. Last week he sold out at the DNC, and his wife recently took a $200,000 severance package from Burlington College – which shut down on July 31 after she bankrupted it, and the students walked away with nothing.
Big surprise – he just bought a $600,000 home.

Epic Heatwave Stupidity At The Washington Post
On this date 80 years ago, it was 119 degrees at Meeker, Oklahoma – just west of Oklahoma City. Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Louisiana, South Dakota and Missouri all reported temperatures over 110 that day.
The hottest official temperature ever recorded was 134 in California during 1913 – which NASA says was one of the 10 coldest years on record.

Microwave Oven Deniers
People who say that greenhouse gases don’t warm the atmosphere, shouldn’t use microwave ovens. Because they believe that “a cooler object can not warm a warmer object.”
Microwave ovens use the same principle as the greenhouse effect – generating heat by absorption of electromagnetic radiation. Astonishing that some people are incapable of accepting the basic science which they take advantage of every day.
The troposphere has a fairly linear temperature gradient. If you increase the temperature in the upper troposphere by adding greenhouse gases, you will necessarily raise the temperature in the lower troposphere too. The entire line will shift upwards.
