    It was painful to watch…

    yes indeed

Well let’s give proper credit to the Patriots here too for their historic loss:
XX Chicago 46, New England 10

I’ve been a Bronco fan most of my life. I just wish they could have played a better game. But I’m not vindictive. I’d like to send the Seattle Seahawks something special. A box of Colorado cantaloupes for each player. Should have sent before the game; my bad.

SB XX Chicago 46, NE 10

Sorta sorry for your loss, Boss. Not really, but approaching a humble gloating. Or something similar. A northwest boy that missed the first two seasons of the Seahawks from being out of country. Barely knew of the expansions, but became a supporter after return to CONUS. I suffered through the years of no where near and also ran seasons, but stood and sometimes had to duck in support of my Sea Slugs.

Sea Slugs no longer. Won a few beers tonight from both the score and the spread, as well as a nickel, the largest money bet I will ever make on any game in any sport. That’s a nickel: five cents. I’m cheap and stingy as well as a life long pessimist. Tonight it feels good. Next season will be another pessimist season of agony. But I enjoy being a pessimist. A pessimist can sometimes be delightfully surprised; an optimist is often disappointed.

    HAWKS!

The Chinese “Year of The Horse”, was apparently simplified and cut short in it’s true reference to dog food.
    “Year of Horsemeat” 😉

Fake war is wack and boring. Who cares if a silly cone ball makes it through a hoop? Or is that hockey?

  10. Baa Humbug says:

Broncos didn’t display any self confidence whatsoever. It was like they knew they were going to lose badly from the start.
I feel sorry for Manning, badly let down by his team.

  11. I rooted for the Broncos back when they were the “Orange Crush” (mid-70’s, the Red Miller and Craig Morton era), and hoped well for them through most of Elway’s career, which was a learning experience (“interesting times”, as they say the Chinese say). It’s pretty much a way to pass the time until life gives you something positive to do. Then you can’t help but see all competitive sports is a clinging to adolescence, and a psychological crutch for unfulfilled adults (but a pathway to responsible adulthood–a testing–for the players themselves). And this from a man who just watched, and enjoyed, that movie about Jim Morris, who got to go to the majors in his mid-30’s (and I note, he had father issues throughout the movie).

Hey–I am from MN where the Vikings Super Bowl Record is 0 – 4.
Although, the Vikes never got kicked like that.

Denver was the first team to lose 4 Super bowls. Now they are the first team to lose 5 Super bowls. One must suppose that being 2nd best is better than most other teams, but its still the biggest LOSERS. As my high school math teacher used to opine, “You can’t beat Seabiscuit with a hairy mule.”
