NOAA Has Entered A Data-Free Cheating Phase

I calculated the USHCN V2.5 fully adjusted US temperature for January, and it was 29.0 degrees. But NCDC reported that January was 30.34 degrees.

They aren’t even bothering to use their own data anymore.

    Might be time to start a market on what the US Feb anomaly will be reported as. I’ll open the bidding at -0.05F.

  2. Steve, do you just average, or do you apply to a grid first and get an area weighted average?

  3. Chewer says:

    They’re just using a bit of their homogenization and pulsation dampening techniques 😉
    It’s all about the new and improved scientific post processing adjustments, which are nothing but the best and better than ever!

  4. omanuel says:

    Steven, a lot is at stake now, after sixty-eight years (2014 – 1946 = 68 yrs) of deception to hide the source of energy in cores of:

    1. Heavy atoms like Uranium
    2. Some planets like Jupiter
    3. Ordinary stars like the Sun
    4. Galaxies like the Milky Way.

    The same force may have even contributed to the breakup of continents in natural nuclear reactors (Oklo-like).

    See p. 48, Figure 4.3 of the book by P.K. Kuroda, The Origin of the Chemical Elements and the Oklo Phenomenon, (Springer-Verlag, Berlin, 1982) 165 pp.

  5. Dave says:

    I noticed it seems to be taking a lot longer for NOAA to release their temperature data. It used to come out just a couple of days after the end of the month but now takes a week or two. Must take extra time to doctor the data.

  6. It’s just a fact: January is getting warmer*!

    * with every adjustment

  7. Don says:

    Told you that they would lie about January 2014. They will never give up all those federal funds. By the time it is January 2015 they’ll have made it a top ten warm one.

  8. Sparks says:

    The US is covered with snow and ice at an average January temperature of 29.0 or 30.34 degrees. Statistics are amazing!

  9. Andy DC says:

    Big negative temperature anomalies require very big adjustments. Why not? The climate models say this cold can’t be happening, therefore it must be adjusted out of existence.

  10. Mohatdebos says:

    Steve: You can cross-check NOAA with data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Here is what EIA had to say about U.S. temperatures through January:

    “Temperatures east of the Rocky Mountains have been significantly colder this winter (October – January) compared with the same period both last winter and the previous 10-year average, putting upward pressure on consumption and prices of fuels used for space heating. U.S. average heating degree days were 12% higher than last winter (indicating colder weather) and 8% above the previous 10-year average. The Northeast was 11% colder than last winter, the Midwest 17% colder, and the South 20% colder, while the West was 3% warmer.”

    • The Northeast was 11% colder than last winter, the Midwest 17% colder, and the South 20% colder, while the West was 3% warmer.

      I’m not disagreeing with you, but wow, those numbers are insane. I mean: if last Winter the Midwest averaged (say) 28°, 17% colder would be -55°! Holy crap.

      (28°F is 488 Rankine, & 83% of 488 is 405, right? Otherwise, I can’t see how the use of percentages makes any sense at all. Maybe they’re insane at the EIA)

      • Mohatdebos says:

        I don’t understand your comment. Let’s follow through on your example. Assume Midwest temperature averaged 28 degrees last year. If this year is 17 percent cooler, that means the temperature this year is 4.76 degrees cooler, averaging 23.24 degrees. I don’t know how you came up -55.

    • Bob Knows says:

      Perhaps you mean the SOUTHwest was 3% warmer. We’ve been freezing our buns off up here in the NORTH west.

  11. Jeff says:

    NOAA = No Accurate Averages

    Wish there was some way to make them accountable for their misreporting (to put it mildly)…

  12. D. Self says:

    NOAA and NASA are now the tools of the UN communists.

    • omanuel says:

      Since the end of the Second World War, federal agencies have tried to help hide:

      The force (neutron repulsion) that contributed to the

      a.) Expansion of the universe;
      b.) Fragmentation that produced the Milky Way galaxy of stars;
      c.) Solar explosion that produced the solar system;
      d.) Fission of Earth into a binary Earth/Moon planetary system; and
      e.) Breakup of continents by natural nuclear reactors (Oklo-like) [1].

      What is the chance of success in this crazy attempt to hide the force that controls the universe?

    What these “GW” scammers have done is to destroy the credibility of all “science” for at least a generation. The word “sciencetist” has been redefined go mean “propaganda liar,” or “fraud peddler.” Too few real scientists objected to the massive outpouring of lies, so they are all now a dead and disgraced profession. “Science” –> Whatever BS lies the government paid for.

    • omanuel says:

      Bob, we are all at fault: “there is a bit of enough good in the worst of us and a bit of bad in the best of us;”

      We are all products of the same force.

      • aetheressa says:

        We may have all come to be from the same force, but where we all finish is a matter of the force(s) we choose to resist and succumb to.

        It is an entirely different thing to “complain” about someone’s behavior or actions than it is to “complain” about someone as a person or “product”. If you care about God’s handiwork, when you find that handiwork falling short, or submitting to negative forces that cause it to lie, cheat, steal, or damage Truth, you are obligated to call it out. Your love and concern should cause you to warn it that it’s Creator has declared that such behavior has destructive consequences. Withholding the truth from someone you love, isn’t love at all.

    That’s not an organizational flow chart of corruption, it’s merely a hint of it. And a daughter/son half convicted sodomite dominates this thread, who claims stars are based on iron despite 2014 evidence of oldest stars having no iron spectral signature. THEY ARE YOUR COMFORT ZONE CHEERLEADERS, bless their very hearts, but you are not even a sportsman, worthy of such cheerleading, you are a maverick scientist. You wanna be a poet? No, job offer declined! The world deserves wisdom, and hard love, not soft.

    “Crowds are to some extent in the position of the sleeper whose reason, suspended for the time being, allows the arousing in his mind of images of extreme intensity which would quickly be dissipated could they be submitted to the action of reflection.” – Gustave le Bon (“The Crowd,” 1895)

    “Doth life need even the rabble? Are poisoned wells needed, and stinking fires, and foul dreams, and maggots in the bread of life? Not my hatred but my disgust gnawed hungrily at my life! Alas, often wearied I of intellect when I found ingenuity also amongst the rabble! What befell me? How did I rid myself of disgust? How did mine eye renew its youth? How soared I to those heights where no rabble sit by the wells? Did my very loathing lend me wings and the power to divine wells? Verily, I had to fly to uttermost heights to rediscover the well of delight!” – Friedrich Nietzsche (“Thus Spake Zarathrusta,” 1891)
