About the only thing I’ve seen less certain is a politician on the campaign trail.
“Is 2014 the New 1997?” They certainly would love if it happened.
1997 was their best year ever, but then came 1998, 1999 and 2000 and that “terrible” (for them) strong La Nina and a step change in world’s climate that brought the present cooling trend.
They don’t know what the word “Sun” means.

Um… No. On the top ten list of the hottest years recorded, 1998 is the only one from the 19ies. The rest are from the 20ies. 1998 is now number 4 on the list, with 3 years as hot or hotter comming after that year. For the last 20 years, nearly all years made it into the top ten list and 1998 will likely be knocked down to place 5 on the list after this year.
To the best of my knowledge the vast majority of coral reefs are found in tropical waters.
Why would a tiny increase in temperature have anything other than a beneficial effect ?
And I HATE these anomaly graphs – the red coloured threatening areas of the arctic correspond to water so cold you wouldn’t last half an hour immersed in them without a damn good wetsuit.
They constitute little more than fraud to my way of thinking.
The trend data is unwelcomed in the crazed and quite delusional warmist circles.
The anomalies are moving in the wrong direction.
The 1982/83 and 1996-97 events were balloons in their psychotic parade, but not so much this time around 😉
