Progressives Worried About Guns

Every day driving to work In Maryland, I see a dozen or so drivers who are completely insane. They weave in and out of traffic at high speed, tailgate and engage in behavior which threatens everyone else on the road.

The majority of drivers tailgate and they often collide. My commute gets blocked by a major pile up about once every two weeks. People get killed, or badly injured.

Every day our safety is threatened by mentally ill progressives in their vehicles, who worry incessantly about the almost non-existent threat of their being shot by a gun.

They’re terrified at the very thought of a loaded weapon in the hands of someone other than a benevolent government drone. They will, however, go out after work with the rest of their Progressive and liberal friends, knock back a couple of glasses of Chardonnay then get behind the wheel of a couple of tons of metal moving at 80 or 90 fps and will gleefully send and read a few text messages to/from their wife/hubby/other while doing it. They have no sense of cause and effect… not to mention scale. Hypocrisy much?

Welcome to the idiot drivers of DC – the worst in the world. Now you know why I do not venture above the Fredericksburg line.

      AMEN!

If I have to head north for a visit to New York or Taxechusetts I head west at Fredericksburg and make a big loop around Bos-NY-Wash

      • philjourdan says:

They are talking about another belt way that would basically take that route.

I-95 and most points east from Boston to Richmond is the arm pit of truck driving. I’ll shoot through on over the GW if the time of day is right, otherwise Tappan Zee here I come. Always take I-90 when going from the terminal to anywhere in MA.

        • Gail Combs says:

Driving up from NC to visit relatives in the Boston area we aim to hit the Tappan Zee before 7 AM. Luckily I like to drive at night.

Yep in high traffic urban areas or like I-65 now in southern Indiana and through KY where there is a lot of construction delays now I like night driving. On the open road I like day driving. Though sometimes I have some flexibility, in general I’m not the one that determines when I’ll be driving but there are usually options as to which way I will go to get to where I’m going.

Come over to Virginia–it’s different here.

Maryland is like a foreign country for a Normal-American.

    Take public transit.

Progressives have been prattling about over-population for almost a century and a half. Guns might hinder the murder of seven billion human beings.

And Steve Goddard’s remarks about the insane traffic situation only underscore that–but the worst traffic in the USA appears tame compared with Moscow (Russia) or Rome (Italy) or Barcelona (Spain) or Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) or gay ole Paris (France). If you want crazy drivers, try Mexico City…

    Yeah, what they said!

  7. rah says:

Man this truck driver could go on a rant here about crazy drivers. See them everywhere. It used to be that as a rule the further east you went the worse it got. Not really true anymore. They’re everywhere. Dallas and Austin TX are just as bad as Baltimore.

Three years ago I hauled parts for auto transmissions from Anderson, IN to White Marsh, MD three times a week. Coming back out headed back to Anderson from White Marsh I would endure the morning Baltimore rush for a short distance on I-95 and then on the North side to I-70. Amazing that there aren’t more accidents than there are really. And I was always going into the Baltimore area at night. Every single time I went through a work zone on 695 clearly marked “Photo Enforced” the bright kleig light would be a flashing as they caught someone speeding. Two work areas and both clearly marked “Photo Enforced” and they were nailing someone each and every time I went through each. I went through those work areas 3 times a week for 3 months as I did that run and can’t remember going through them even once at night when they didn’t nail someone. “Stupid” doesn’t even come close to describing it.

As for Gun Control? Maryland is just nuts. But they keep electing the Bozos who pump that stuff so………….
