Happy New Year!

“I am absolutely certain that generations from now, we will be able to look back and tell our children that this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow and our planet began to heal”

  • Barack Obama   June 3, 2008

Eight years ago, America elected a complete nutcase for president, based almost entirely on the color of his skin. The man had zero qualifications for the job, and imagines himself to be some sort of god.

The sun is finally setting on this insanity, and a new dawn is approaching. I’m celebrating New Years in one of the most spectacular places on Earth – Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Count down to the real new year:
    Noon January 20th, 2017!

And Happy New Year to you too Tony! May the coming year bring only good things for you! Though it seems that this year you found a place to live and work that suits you very well.

3 more weeks and the occupier of the White House is GONE GONE GONE!!!!

Happy New Year — The BEST EVER for DEPLORABLES!

    • AndyOz says:

If we equated recent US Presidents with Roman Emperors, I’m fairly certain Obama was Nero – a narcissistic nutcase.
Baby Bush was Claudius – the rebuilder.
Clinton was Caligula – enuf said
Daddy Bush was Tiberius – career civil servant
Reagan was Augustus – Made America Great

Trump could well be equivalent to Vespasian, another rebuilder and completely unrelated to the Julian Dynasty

  3. Gail Combs says:

I will be so happy NOT to have to look at any more Obummer nose hair…

    • gator69 says:

Yes, our 8 year long nightmare is nearly over. This is a time for all to reflecct on the past, and “hope” that we all learned a few things.

One thing I have not seen mentioned is the stark contrast between how Bush welcomed Obama into his new position, versus how Obama is pissing in the well, razing the crops, slaughtering the livestock, and burning down the barn before he hands over the farm to Trump. Am I the only one who remembers that Bush included Obama in cabinet meetings post election, and asked Obama how he wanted the stimulus handled? Sure seems the MSM has forgotten all about it.

Happy New Year to all my deplorable infidel friends!

      • Gail Combs says:

Gator, As many with long memories have said, NEVER has an outgoing president behaved in such a childish manner!

That the MSM AND our Republican held Congress is aiding him in these temper tantrums is horrifying. I am saving up a ton of stuff I am going to blasting my reps in congress with as soon as Congress reconvenes on January 3rd.

I am hoping others will help me give then the good spanking they so richly deserve!

Electing Trump was just the first battle in a LONG war. We can not sit back and relax. Time to get organized and find some decent people to run our country and do what we can to curb the Idiocracy in the mean time.

  4. Colorado Wellington says:

Happy New Year, Tony. Things are looking up. Let’s make it a good one!

    • GeologyJim says:

      Happy New Year Tony –

You’ve certainly helped many of us feel more positive about the future, and I know I will be aggressively contacting my representatives to shut down the “climate alarmist” machine and get the country back to work, back to prosperity, and back to positive vibes.

I had the pleasure of working on a groundwater project in the Albuquerque-Santa Fe area back in the early 2000s and was truly “enchanted” by the region. Great history, great food, great people (with the exception of some Taos-Santa Fe jerks, mostly late-comers and coastal interlopers)

One of my favorite movies is “Milagro Beanfield War” and I looked long and hard to find the location of the Milagro town square. Any thoughts? Was it actually just a movie set? I’ve driven all around Truchas and other locales that are consistent with the long views in the movie but haven’t located Ruby Archuleta’s shop, Mayor Cantu’s office, or the iconic mission church in the movie.

So sorry for the loss of your mother, but best wishes for 2017. It’s going to be so superior to the last 8 years of govt-control and bi-coastal groupthink.

Glad to meet you for a beer sometime soon

      • Latitude says:

Jim…it was filmed in Truchas, New Mexico

        Happy New Year!

        • GeologyJim says:

Yeah, but what part of Truchas?

          • Ernest Bush says:

Given that the movie was filmed in the 80’s, the town square you remember could have been long gone or so modernized you can’t remember it. Also, movie producers can go in and make temporary changes to buildings and remove the changes after the movie. This has happened time-to-time in Yuma, AZ.

  5. C. Wells says:

Have a great “New Year” Mr. Heller and thank you for all of your work and insight. May your days ahead be imbued with remembrance of your wonderful mother, and how her wisdom guided you in your years of physical and mental development. She did a “great” job.

  6. Andy DC says:

This will hopefully be a very happy 2017 for climate skeptics and others with belief in limited Government. Hopefully a not so happy 2017 for cop killers and their sympathizers.

    • John F Hultquist says:

Among the many other evils of Obama is that he encouraged cop-killers.
Any mention of his legacy will be worthless if it does not mention this and the other evils he spawned.

    Thank god for this blog.

  11. Dudley Jones says:

    Best wishes from the UK.

It is too much to expect Obama to go decently. President for life?

    Keep it up Tony

  12. gregole says:

Tony and all – Happy New Year!

Beautiful shots of New Mexico – have a great and refreshing holiday Tony!

  13. Andy Watson says:

I think that is harsh on Obama.

He got into power with the worse economic position for a long time. Rather than letting the disgraceful banks go bust, which we all I think would agree is the right capitalism way of doing things, he supported them just to stop it making it less worse in the long run.

However you now have a businessman in charge so I expect Donald to do a better on the finances for the USA. Lets see.

I’m from the UK so perhaps I do a more gentile spin on things though as 3000m removed.

Given 20 years hence I think you will think Obama did a decent job at righting the badly listing ship.

    Andy

PS I am already defending Trump over here, my mantra is ” Give him a chance, then lets see” . People in Europe are writing him off before he has had a chance. :(

    • RAH says:

The disgraceful banks could not have been so disgraceful had the democrats not set up the conditions for it to happen.

      http://humanevents.com/2012/12/22/new-study-finds-democrats-fully-to-blame-for-subprime-mortgage-crisis/

      • Gail Combs says:

President Clinton and his five new banking laws set up the Subprime Mortgage Crisis.

The bailout was for AIG who placed insurance polices on those subprime mortgages. WORSE anyone could take out an AIG policy and some homes had multiple policies. That meant it was very very lucrative to FORCE borrowers into foreclosure IF multiple AIG policies was on the mortgage AS LONG AS TAX PAYERS KEPT PAYING OFF POLICIES! Therefore the AIG bailout PAID the banks to NOT renegotiate the housing loans. It was a win-win for the banks with policies and a lose-lose for homeowners who got foreclosed on since they lost the house AND were STILL on the hook for paying the banks for the house via their taxes in future years.
How the AIG Bailout Could be Driving More Foreclosures

That is exactly what happen to us with the ‘Obummer’ mortgage ‘help’ to hopefully renegotiate our loan to a better interest rate. Unfortunately it was actually a trap using partial payments to get you far behind in the amount owed so the banks could levee interest, penalties and lawyers fees once they finished playing the we lost your papers again game for over a year. We actually had to hire a lawyer and sue the *&$%* bank to get them to TELL US how much we actually owed to keep from them foreclosing!!! It took them over 6 months to tell us!!

How Wall Street Is Using the Bailout to Stage a Revolution: The global economic crisis isn’t about money – it’s about power

      • gator69 says:

Of course the democrats were to blame. Anyone paying any attention (no, not to the MSM) would have known that years ago. I watched from the inside as the government told banks to make bad loans, or go out of business. Two great choices.

        • Gail Combs says:

Yes. that was one of the nastiest of the laws that Bill Clinton signed setting up the mortgage crisis.

We really really need to chuck the whole idea of ‘Affirmative Action’ into the sewer system of history and go back to the best for the job gets it. It has been three generations. If you aren’t ‘equal’ at this point then blame the Progressives for leading you astray and yourself for believing in Unicorn rainbow farts.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

“I am already defending Trump over here …
People in Europe are writing him off before he has had a chance.”

Yes, many do. The EU establishment, the media, the “progressive” elites, the multiculturalist Left, the Jew-haters and the European Islamists loathe Trump *). Many of the same people who were cheering Barack Obama 8 years ago like a bunch of adoring schoolgirl groupies.

Then again, many don’t. Do you know who Pauline Kael was and how she became famous?

Anyway, it seems you sense that even the need to defend President-Elect Trump before he was sworn in is pretty strange, even though not stranger than nominating President Obama for a Nobel Peace Prize a week after he’d taken office.

      That speaks for you.

      ———-
*) I’m sure you know these groups overlap

      • GeologyJim says:

As I recall, Pavel, Pauline Kael was famous for saying “I can’t believe Richard Nixon was elected. Why, absolutely no one I know voted for him!!”

        Or words to that effect.

Love the self-deception of liberals – – heh, heh

Happy New Year to you, sir!

    • gator69 says:

Given 20 years hence I think you will think Obama did a decent job at righting the badly listing ship.

Huh? Sorry, but not even in 200 years. The ship is still taking on water, and pirates.

    • Latitude says:

Given 20 years hence I think you will think Obama did a decent job at righting the badly listing ship.

Andy, Obama added almost $10 trillion in new debt….

The New Year brings hope to many critics of “97%-consensus science” held together with public research funds controlled by the US National Academy of Sciences.

The NAS (National Academy of Sciences), a private, self-perpetuation group of once-distinguished scientists and scholars that betrayed the public trust after WWII, will also be advising incoming President Donald J. Trump.

      HAPPY NEW YEAR, Andy

And may the Australian voters finally wake up to the CAGW/Globalist Frauds and kick the B@st@rds OUT!

      • Me says:

I thought the same here in Canada, but the LSM did their voodoo and got the peopleto believe in their BS.They are still at it here after Trump won down there! So in the end it all works out, as Trump will make the shiny pony do what is needed to be done. LOL! It has already had an affect as he has approved pipelines to tidal waters that them libertards would have never have done, and the eco freaks are going nuts here! LMAO!

  18. pyromancer76 says:

Happy, Happy New Year, Tony. Thanks for fighting the good fight consistently with accurate data and truthful analyses. Your keeping our historical knowledge on “climate change” up to date is an awesome accomplishment. No one does it better. Glad you have been advising President Trump. A prosperous and healthy 2017.

  19. Tim A says:

You rock Tony!! Have a blessed New Year! Thanks for all you do!!

  20. Gail Combs says:

It looks like Tony’s trip to Australia stirred up the Imp of the Perverse who decided to show Australia just how wasted there tax dollars were.

I am sure we will never read of it in the MSM. As reported by hillbilly33 @ ChiefIO

…A highlight of the year was the decision of the Premier of Victoria, ‘glove puppet’ of Australia’s most powerful militant Unions, the CFMEU, to finally order some water from the huge white elephant desalination plant at Wonthaggi, one of a number round Australia which are a legacy of the Professor Tim Flannery ‘never-ending drought’ scare backed up by people of the ilk of noted CAGW ‘believer’ David Karoly. The plant promptly blew a fuse and did considerable damage when switched on.

These links give the background and detail the latest fiasco.
