Repeat Of 1977?

“If you thought science was certain. well that was just an error on your part”

– Richard Feynman

During January, 1977 it snowed in Miami and Alaska was warmer than Florida. Similar to the current forecast.

National Geographic : 1977 Dec

In 1977 it was blamed on global cooling.  This time, it will of course be blamed on global warming.

    Nice find,
because it proves that every decade, even the very cold 70ies could be (miss)used to promote Global Warming,
as such a huge anomalie as in 1977 would have been exploited
to push AGW and be considered as ultimate prove for climate change
((i wonder how many trillion polar bears died during the hot january days in the arctic?-i’m kidding. At that time the coming ice age was the ultimate reality
and noone gave a shit about the low number of polar bears while the much higher numbers of these days are proove that they are about to go extinct because of AGW :)

Speaking at looking at the warmth at parts of the US in the past, I looked at the data for the hot temperature record for all 50 US states: https://www.infoplease.com/science-health/weather/record-highest-temperatures-state

The first thing of note is that the average year for the states’ heat records is 1943. 75 years ago.

Ok, that year should really be very recent, like 1990 if we really had gone through a century of hockey stick warming, but what really catches you attention is if you count decade by decade the number of state heat records set: it turns out 26 of 50 all time heat records for US states were set in the 1930s!

And ZERO state heat records were set in 2000s. And zero have been set in 2010s, despite their constant screeching that we are always at record heat. The US (and probably the globe) was (much) hotter in the 1930s then now. Global warming is bunk.

    Here, I graphed it:

    • Eric Simpson says:

My bad it’s actually 24 state heat records set in 1930 (there were so many heat records set then that I must have been seeing double at some point).

Anyway, I got a Christmas gift of sort planned for my alarmist brother. He was recently bent out of shape about a hot day in Los Angeles, saying how he feared we are all going to fry. My idea… wrap up a print out of the (false) graphic below as confirmation of his fears, then a few minutes bring out the graphic of reality (as posted above).

So, here’s what reality in the global warming world should be, but it’s NOT true:

While it seems like a fun idea for you, I would not be the least bit surprised if your brother winds up believing the fake chart, and even when you tell him it is fake, will never believe that it really is fake. Instead he will think that you are trying to fool him when you show him the true chart. I wish you luck with your attempt although I fear it will backfire on you.

    • arn says:

      That’s interessting,
especially if it turns out that the number of weather stations has increased since then,as an increase in weather stations should increase
the chances to find more heat anomalies+
several station these days are sorrounded by concrete, roads etc which
      are increasing temperatures.
((and tell your brother in fear that he should relax a bit))

This will be a terrible blow to WY and Northeastern CO. NoCO is already freeze dried. Brutal cold with no snow cover will kill many plants and animals. Ugly, ugly and I can’t think of anything that will help this situation.

Oh I hope you’re wrong. I hate the cold!

  5. Don E says:

I was in Fairbanks Alaska. It was either 1960 or 1961. On December 24 the Temperature downtown read 45 and at the same time it was below freezing in Florida. I think they lost much of the orange crop. Also in one of those winters it did not get above minus 50 for two weeks; the record low at the military base was minus 72.

Just wondering since global warming should more manifest itself in the evenings; what is the graph for record high MINIMUM temperatures?
