Nature Not Cooperating With The Press Scamsters

Last week I called out the Washington Post and Fox News for lying about Arctic sea ice and Greenland glacial ice, which they said were melting at a record rate. The exact opposite is happening. Arctic sea ice is the highest for the date in years, and melting slowly.

Greenland is also melting very slowly – and has actually gained mass over the last few days.

It is -11C and snowing in the center of the Greenland ice sheet.  Not exactly a meltdown.

Quite different from 80 years ago, when Greenland was facing “catastrophic collapse.”

There is no accountability in journalism.  They know they can say anything they want and get away with it, and then refuse to report when they are called out.

Not only they can say any BS they want, but they get their supplies from the same huckster :

But, but, it’s hot in Europe, particularly France and Germany.

Since 70 percent of the world has no temperature measurement (our oceans) no temperature rise or fall can be valid.

Mr. Heller, have you seen this TED talk?

I had no idea that the opposite of what the vegan/animal-rights trend wants might be true.

Someone famous once said “the solution to one problem is another problem”
More breathers are definitely not the solution to rising CO2 levels, (if indeed it is a problem) because we only end up exchanging CO2 for things like Nitrogen, Methane, and soil acidification, the solution to soil acidifcation is the applications of calcium carbonate, and guess what out-gasses, CO2, it’s a cycle.

Empirically we have proof that more sheep and cows will produce more problems than they solve, and this TED talker hasn’t a clue, he’s just tickling ears with fluff.

Here in Christchurch New Zealand we have been blessed by a wonderful quirk of nature. The city water supply is tapped from a very deep aquifer under the city that produces beautifully clear fresh tasting mineral water at the tap. It doesn’t contain fluoride and normally no chlorine (we have had periods after the earthquakes where chlorine was added) It has been estimated that the glass of water we pour today, fell as snow up to 15,000 years ago and it has taken all this time to seep through 15 miles of deep basement cracks.

However, in the last few years increasing levels of nitrates and phosphates and even e-coli have been detected in this water, it has coincided with a rapid change in the usage of the intervening land, from cereal cropping to stock.

Scientists now say that within 100 years the aquifer will be so polluted it will not be safe to drink and will likely take thousands of years to clear again.

One area 60 miles away on a shallow aquifer, has one of the highest rates of bowel cancer per head of population in the world, it is thought by many scientists to be linked to nitrates from stock effluent leaching through the ground into the water supply.

Big Beef, Big Pork, and Big Dairy have very powerful lobbying might and finances, they will fight like hell to preserve their right to pollute in the name of Big business.

New Zealand was once a “100% Clean and Green” country, but that was over 50 years ago, the only thing Green about it now is the mounting cow poo.,_New_Zealand

      • Denis Rushworth says:

And during those 59 years, the population of New Zealand has doubled. Could that be contributing to the problems you cite?

        • KevinPaul says:

Denis, respecting the Christchurch aquifer, population density has not had much of an impact, waste is treated and piped out to sea, it is the cattle numbers doubling over the last 25 years that has created this problem.

Certainly, several local rivers are now polluted due to treated human waste being released into them. When I was a boy 50 years ago, a number of local rivers held massive numbers of migratory salmon that on hot summer days could be seen making their way up to mountain streams to spawn. But now the rivers in summer are mostly green slimy stagnant seeps, reduced in flow by the demands for irrigation to grow summer feed for stock. These rivers stink not only from human waste but also the animal runoff from these farms.

There are moves to make good, but as I said, the solution to one problem is another problem.

As they say in________ (name the town, or country), if you don’t like the weather (climate) just wait 15 minutes (years) and it will change. But the lefties see only straight lines, ever up, ever down, and never the twain shall meet. “The sky is falling! Help!”
