No Need For Rational Thought In Climate Science

NASA shows land temperatures rising sharply from 1880 to 1899, and they show ocean temperatures falling during that same twenty year period.

Does anyone actually believe there could be a divergence like that  for two decades? But no worries, the ocean data is mostly made up.

Prior to about 15 years ago, NASA didn’t even pretend to know pre-1950 ocean temperatures.

  1. Mr Adam Flockhart says:

I find it almost unbelievable that scientists are blatantly or surreptitiously altering or creating data on the scale evidenced by the climate change controversy. Are these “new” data being created by climate models so that the record and the climate models themselves can be seen to agree? If so, it is truly Orwellian!

    AF.

I recently saw a bumper sticker: “Make Orwell fiction again! “

    • Paul Overby says:

I don’t think they do, as much as many posters claim. There are too many other people out there to look at the data. If someone has a claim to the otherwise on this thread, go ahead and post it.

How can their image be so much larger than their evidence?

I’m glad the ocean data is mostly made up. For a moment there I thought there might have been something amiss.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

I am also relieved that it’s made up. We wouldn’t want anyone to wonder about the divergence and begin doubting climate science claims.

  4. Dan Pangburn says:

Being unaware that CO2 is not a pollutant and is required for all life on earth is science ignorance.
Failure to discover that CO2 has no significant effect on climate but water vapor does is science incompetence.
Changing measured data to corroborate an agenda is science malpractice.

The increase in average global temperature is mostly a result of increased water vapor. The tampered data exaggerates the influence of WV.

How about some criticism of this. Its just not possible that any scientist reconstructing sea surface temperatures could get the hemispheres mixed up.

Going from v 2 to 3 changes the anomalies from 1940 – 1970 dramatically but almost nothing from 1880 to 1940. How did they only find something to change in just that period to both hemispheres?

The average from 1961 to 1991, the base period, has changed but the anomalies for 1998 changed not one iota (and very little for many other years. They clearly used 1998 as their reference, not the base period the anomalies are supposedly taken from.

Despite the anomalies being the difference between global averages for the month and global averages for the same month in the base period, a seasonal signal pops up.

Its a dogs breakfast and they just get away with it.
