Unfortunately the constant drumbeat of the big lie about last year being the hottest ever, even affects rational people who reject the loonie left climate cult. I have a work colleague who does not believe the nonsense, but then argues last year was really hot. The constant drumbeat affects even normal rational people!
There were a handful of hot days, but not anything above the normal number of hot days. But the drumbeat of hottest ever on those days affects how brains record the experience and can trick or fool one’s assessment of how “hot” it was overall during the period. The mass formation psychosis is insidious and can affect even normal rational people!
This past Summer, 2023, was one of the coolest we have had in over 30 yrs. 1993 was HOT…104°F in the shade but this Summer we broke 90 … TWICE.
And it was Wet and now it is EET & COLD.

Here in Australia we have been told the hottest year ever rubbish but here they had to add the proviso that everywhere was hotter than average except Australia. The numbers I have heard here in just one of these alarmist reports was that the records being referred to go back to the 1850s only. As for El Nino, which is supposed to bring hotter, drier weather to Australia, some parts of the east coast have had their wettest beginning of the year on record and there have been very few hot days and not really above the average number we usually get in Summer.

Over here in eastern SD, we got 10+” of that dry cold since Sunday. That dry cold white stuff will stay around till some warmer BTU’s comes in to melt it, which will not raise the air temperature much till it is all gone.
I remember when 1984 rolled around and every newspaper carried stories about how far off George Orwell was with his novel of the same name. We all laughed about how wrong he was. Well we’re not laughing now. Everything in his book has come true, it is only the year he got slightly wrong.
So do they do these hottest days ever to convert new people or to hold on to their existent religious fanatics?
