Yesterday he announced “15 days or as long as it takes” to flatten Yemen. Like Gaza there is little left to flatten. Yemen has been subjected to years of unrelenting attacks by the usual suspects (including the “moderate” Arab states, Saudi, UAE, Bahrain, etc.) to the point where it has almost no infrastucture. It is also enduring a years-long famine due to a food blockade. So the heroic US navy launched 160 attacks that manged to kill dozens of innocent civilians, most of them children. What can one say? USA! USA! But Yemen, now listed as a terrorist state for the crime of opposing genocide, long ago moved its military operations deep undergound and said operations will continue until the Gaza genocide stops. Which will only happen when there is no one left to kill. I can easily see Trump or “israel” going nuclear out of frustration. Trumps legacy will be as the man who finally succeeded is starting a global war. He is now so compromised as to be barely recognizable. But he does have better advisers now. Like Pete Hegseth who has a crusaders cross tattooed on his chest and is itching to start a “holy war” with China. And Marco “Little Marco” Rubio, he who has a fondness for “foam parties” ( I’ll spare the details). So the country is in fine hands; it’s all good.
Indeed, let’s hope. Because the people who brought us the civilization-ending lockdowns and $trillions in borrowing are still around and more determined than ever. They’re just biding their time, testing to see how well the emotional and mental prison created by the NYT/NPR/WaPo/PBS etc. is working. If they can get more than half of Americans to stop seeing the light, the bad old days will return.
