Sixty years ago, New England was about to get slammed by two major (category 3-5) hurricanes in a row. They were the last major hurricanes to hit New England.
If this happened today, climate scientists like James Hansen and Kevin Trenberth would appear on television and say they are 99% certain it was due to global warming, and would have been impossible before 1970.

Reminds me of the old cliché – The more things change, the more things stay the same.
There is a remarkable reluctance of all these AGW promoters to address nine pages of precise experimental data that expose Al Gore and the UN’s IPCC as clearly as Hans Chritian Anderson’s story of the proud Emperor who paraded before the public in his new suit fabricated of imaginary cloth.

If this pair of hurricanes happened today, we’d be inundated with predictions of those imminent “Cat “6” hurricanes”…..
These new “super hurricanes would be predicted to begin occurring with great regularity unless we immediately begin to shell-out 50% of our remaining income to carbon taxes…..
No mention would be allowed that such an “unprecedented” thing had ever happened in the past…..
Gotta sell those new taxes to keep the grant-gravy-train running.
Let us not forget that during that very same hurricane season on October 15, 1954, Hurricane Hazel, a CAT 4, slammed into the North Carolina coast with almost total devastation for many coastal comminities. Generally is considered North Carolina’s worst hurricane in history.
Hazel maiantained hurricane intensity along its inland path all the way to Canada, with 98 mph winds recorded in Washington, DC. Massive flooding in the Toronto area killled over 80 people.
How refreshing to read a weather related article that isn’t full of fear-mongering, opinion, personal feelings, and agenda. Whatever happened to Who, What, When, Where, and Why?
