Saving New Mexico From Global Warming

I was planning on driving to Los Alamos yesterday, but global warming forced me to postpone my travel. They have had nearly three feet of snow in the past month and are expecting another 6-12 inches today.

In their effort to save New Mexico from global warming, progressives have succeeded in creating widespread wildlife habitat destruction.

The Renewable Fuel Standard is a federal program meant to combat climate change by diversifying our alternative fuel portfolio. Unfortunately, the program has not lived up to this original mission — only fuels from corn ethanol have seen successful production levels, cropland conversion has caused widespread habitat destruction, and it has failed to curb climate impacts.

Temperatures Following Hansen’s Zero Emissions Scenario C

“It doesn’t matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn’t matter how smart you are. If it doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s wrong.

– Richard P. Feynman

In 1988, NASA’s James Hansen made temperature forecasts for three emissions scenarios.  Scenario A was increasing emission growth rates. Scenario B was decreasing emission growth rates. Scenario C was no emissions after the year 2000.

“We have considered cases ranging from business as usual, which is scenario A, to draconian emission cuts, scenario C, which would totally eliminate net trace gas growth by year 2000.”

So how did Hansen do? The graph below shows the five year mean of lower troposphere temperatures measured by satellite.

The next graph overlays the satellite lower troposphere temperatures in red, on Hansen’s 1988 forecasts – at the same scale and normalized to the early 1980’s.

Lower troposphere temperatures have tracked Hansen’s zero emissions scenario. If (your theory) doesn’t agree with experiment, it is wrong.

Texas Sized Climate Lies

Texas climate experts say they want to “school” Governor Abbott about how global warming causes heavy rain in Texas.

Texas scientists want to school Governor Greg Abbott on climate | Grist

Seven years ago during a drought, the same group of climate experts said Texas would be hot and dry for the rest of the century, and they ridiculed Governor Perry for pointing out the obvious – the rains would return.

“we’ll be fine. As my dad says, it’ll rain. It always does.”

– Texas Governor Rick Perry  Summer, 2011

With No End in Sight for Texas Drought, ABC News Explains: “Every Farmer in the World Will Be Affected by Climate Change” – ThinkProgress

“The weather of the 21st century will be very much like the hot and dry weather of 2011. Giving extra credibility to this forecast is the fact that the weather extremes that we are presently experiencing were predicted in the first edition in 1995.”

– Texas climate experts  2011

Texas is vulnerable to warming climate – Houston Chronicle

Rick Perry was correct.  Since 2011, Texas has been having some of their wettest years on record.

Climate at a Glance | National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI)

The frequency of hot days in Texas has been declining for 110 years – 2011 was a hot outlier, just as 2007 was a cool outlier. Rick Perry’s statement was based on long term observation, whereas the climate experts based their junk science on a single short term weather event.

Now these same climate experts have reversed their story – based on another single, short term weather event.

Texas holds many rainfall records, set in 1871, 1921, 1935, and 1979. Including the world record fifteen minute rainfall in 1871.

In 1886 Texas was hit by four hurricanes, including one which wiped Indianola, Texas off the map permanently.

There seems to be no limit to the incompetence, arrogance and dishonesty of climate scientists. And they are attempting to drive the United States into energy poverty with their ceaseless lies.
