I frequently write about how climate alarmists hide Arctic sea ice data prior to 1979, but now they are hiding Antarctic data too – claiming  a record low January extent.

As is invariably the case with climate alarmists, they are lying and hiding data.  There was less ice around Antarctica in January 1976, near the peak of the ice-age scare. This map of Antarctic sea ice was published by National Geographic in 1976.

The low Antarctic sea ice extent in the 1970s was reported in the 1990 IPCC report.

January Antarctic sea ice extent has been trending upwards for 40 years, and was at a record high in 2014.

In 1976, the CIA was predicting mass chaos and global instability as a result of the global cooling which had already occurred.

Two years later, the New York Times reported “no end in sight to the 30-year cooling trend.

With Arctic sea ice extent very close to the 1981-2010 median, there should be no surprise that climate fraudsters have moved their abuse of science to the other pole.

In this brainless, incoherent article by Jeff Masters of Weather Underground, Richard Alley states that CO2 is the climate control knob, and then immediately explains that it isn’t.

“There’s no doubt that the ice ages are paced by the orbits“, says Dr. Alley. “No way that the orbit knows to dial up CO2, and say ‘change’. So it shouldn’t be terribly surprising if the CO2 lags the temperature change. The temperature never goes very far without the CO2. The CO2 adds to the warming. How do we know that the CO2 adds to the warming? It’s physics!”

His largely irrelevant and wildly deceptive statement “The temperature never goes very far without the CO2” should be enough to get him banned from any serious discussion about anything. In the historical record, changes in atmospheric CO2 are a reaction to temperature change of the oceans – not the cause of them.

One of my favorite places in New Mexico is Chaco Canyon. Pueblo Bonito housed 1,200 people, and was abandoned after a 70 year long drought, apparently caused by 13th century SUV’s.

Jerry Zeifman was the chief Democratic counsel for the House Judiciary Committee during Nixon’s impeachment, and supervised Hillary Clinton during that time. I’m reading his book “Hillary’s Pursuit of Power.”  Here are a few quotes from it.

The Clintons have a long history of criminal activity, including Bill Clinton’s impromptu private meeting with Loretta Lynch at the Phoenix airport the week before she decided not to prosecute Hillary for violating national security, mishandling classified information, lying repeatedly and destroying evidence under subpoena. None of it ever gets punished, which is one reason why our federal government is on the brink of collapse.

One fact which is obvious to everyone except (1) climate scientists and their (2) useful idiots, is that colder winters have greater snow cover. Mosher (category 2) was arguing this with me last night, before I finally blocked him on twitter.

When winters are colder, the freeze line moves closer to the equator and snow extent increases. During warmer winters, the freeze line moves towards the pole, and snow extent decreases.

North American winter (December-February) snow extent has been increasing for fifty years.

US winter maximum temperatures have generally been declining, after some very warm winters in the 1930s and 1950s.

Plotting winter snow extent vs. average winter daily maximum temperature, the relationship is obvious.  Warmer winters have smaller coverage of snow.

The relationship between cold and snow is also obvious to everyone outside the climate science community.

I have been warning climate alarmists for the past eight months that their Arctic sea ice scam is on its last legs. Arctic sea ice is rapidly expanding and getting close to the 1981-2010 median.

The only two regions with small deficiencies are the Okhotsk and Barents Seas, and both have very favorable conditions for ice growth.
