Global Sea Ice Area Higher Than 1979

The amount of sea ice on earth is 11th highest on record for the date, and higher than most of the years d the 1990’s. Climate experts say that sea ice disappearing is proof of global warming.

    The second paragraph said Dr. Carlson expected the affect to take hundreds of years. I believe we can adjust to that. The sea ice plot goes through 2008 which was the similar to 1979? Then why all the fuss about sea ice? Of course it all melted in 2012 or 2013 according to predictions.
