In an effort to protect tourists from violent crime, the State Department has released the following map. They advise tourists to stay away from any county which voted for Obama (blue) and particularly precincts which voted 80+% for Obama.

It seems that out West, Messrs. Lewis and Clark could still make it through much of the territory. It’s just not clear that Mrs. Charbonneau could get them all the way to the Pacific.
Back East, the Pilgrims are screwed. The shores are teeming with hostiles.
that’s probably why they are so afraid of sea level rise…
Has anyone ever done a correlation of counties that voted for B.O. & crime statistics, murders/robberies/etc.? I bet there’s a 97% statistic hiding there.
Looks a lot different by per capita per county (assaults.)
Total number of aggravated assaults reported per 100,000 people in 2011.
http://www.policymap.com/crime-statistics/index.html
Still pretty close. Safest bet is to stay out of cities and in areas with fewer gun laws. If you think democrat control is best, move to Detroit or Chicago.
gator, take another look at http://www.policymap.com/crime-statistics/index.html
and you will see, for California and Oregon for instance, the greatest assaults per capita happen in Republican rural counties
What you mean by “Republican rural counties” are “farm counties full of illegal immigrants” or “reservations full of drunken Indians”
Your map also cherry picks ‘aggravated assaults’, and curiously leaves out rapes, murders, and robberies (et al).
Move to Chicago or Detroit if you really believe the BS you are pushing.
Interestingly, aggravated assault and rape are the only crimes showing higher incidence per capita in non urban areas. Rural areas are safest across the board, it is large and mid sized (democrat) cities that have issues. Then there is this problem…
“Milwaukee police have acknowledged misreporting thousands of aggravated assaults as minor crimes – but a Journal Sentinel review found that other serious crimes have gone missing from the city’s violent crime rate.”
http://m.jsonline.com/more/news/watchdog/watchdogreports/crimes-underreported-by-police-include-robbery-rape-e567cu0-167448105.html
And this systemic problem in urban areas…
“For over 30 years the Los Angeles Police Department has been operating under Special Order 40, which prevents officers from inquiring about immigration status and from contacting federal immigration officials about an individual’s immigration status. It is estimated that there are more gang members in Los Angeles than Marines in the United States Marine Corps. But with Special Order 40 in effect, the real level of illegal alien in crime is only a guess.
In 2008 The City of San Francisco was found by Customs and Border Protection to be protecting young illegal alien Honduran crack dealers from federal immigration authorities. Also in 2008 the lack of local enforcement in San Francisco resulted in the slaughter of three members of the Bologna family by an illegal alien gang member well known to local authorities. With corruption like this in city governments, their crime reports cannot be believed.
The illegal, yet ubiquitous, phenomenon of so-called “sanctuary cities” signals to everyone in government and the criminal community that laws will not be enforced, which of course distorts crime reporting and results in F.B.I. crime stats that are nowhere near the truth. In many cases, cities and towns have one or more “colonias” where the police don’t patrol and only respond to the most visible, usually the most violent, crime scene.”
We don’t have these problems out where I live, and we have not had a murder in my county for over five years.
I wonder how accurate the numbers are in that map. As an example, look at the southern border of Kentucky. Then look at the northern border of Tennessee. There are huge changes from one county to the adjacent counties on the other side of the border. Is it reasonable to think that the assault rate changes that much and that consistently along the state border? Even out in the boonies where there are not any major cities? Maybe we have gross under reporting (or over reporting) in some states.
